The Alchemy of turning a square into triangles

Laugh in the face of squares or the squares’ boss will laugh at you.

In astrology there are various energies (aspects) that occur when planets and points connect (at particular degrees, angles). It’s the “Hey, I see you and I’m now deciding on what I’m going to do with you”.  One of these aspects is called a Square.

What’s the meaning of all this?

When we think of a square, what comes to mind?  Perhaps hard edges, enclosed, straight and narrow, balanced, equal, flat, lifeless, stationary, professional, covering, etc.

And for some reason, a square visualizes into a cube for me so if that’s the case for you too, what comes to mind? Perhaps a box, containment, a holding vessel, a stepping stool, an obstacle, heaviness, etc.

Sometimes a square is there to keep us safe, protect usand we are NOT meant to engage the aspect without a solid idea on how it will impact other aspects and a game plan to deal with the outcome of removing the obstacle; however, most other times squares are there to challenge us.  We are supposed to remove them and they will ofer up something special if we do.

Could you see squares as opportunities to help you get to a higher place and to become a winner?  That squares can compel us to achieve greatness?  To me, a square says that we have loads to offer the world and others if the ego would just get over itself.

You are NOT at the mercy of your square. A square is a rite of passage.  Have you / can you come of age?

Imagine this

Imagine a square is like a sci-fi portal.  There are two very different sides and all you have to do is be brave, take a deep breath, do something completely different, and walk to the other side. And because it’s different over there, learning the language and customs quickly of the other is important for survival.

Just like life, everyone has a boss and it’s no different for the square.  To me, the planet Saturn seems to be the most likely match as the ruler of the square. While Saturn can be quite the serious chap, he can also be the trickster too.

When I think of Saturn (mascot, goat), I think of being tested to see if I’m worthy of the gifts that the old man will bestow upon me should I pass.  I think of a challenging momentum and not to give up, even in the face of adversity, in order to achieve success.  I see Saturn as moving cautiously, slowly but with purpose.

Let’s face it!

I see the square causing fear because the other side is unknown, doesn’t feel comfortable, not what used to, often not traditional at first glance, and possibly taboo or lacking civility in some way.  In the face of a square, some people give up and say, “It’s just the way it is and I can’t do anything about it.”  However, once we overcome our fears, get out of our comfort zone, see what the other side has to offer, and discuss / negotiate options, we can achieve all the power and abundance Saturn wants to give us.  Until then Saturn challenges us to make the unknown known, the unconventional normal, the uncomfortable comfortable, the unworkable workable…

What tools and strategies will you employ to pass Saturn’s Test? A hammer? Invisibility? Pretend the square isn’t there and just slide on pass? Crawl over, around? Lobby Saturn to change the test format? Say to Saturn, “Hey, Can you please move that square for me? Thanks!”.
Laugh in the face of the square and after you pass Saturn’s Test remember to say, “The joke’s on you!”.

A Square turned on its side makes a DIAMOND!  The moral of the picture is to look at things differently.
I have a belief that no such thing as good or bad exists, only difference.
What’s in a square? That which we call a trine.By any other square would smell as sweet. Oh, I think Will would get a kick out of that quote mod!
In the Wikipedia Astrological aspect article it says, “Basically, the square’s energy is similar to that of a trine but it is intensified to such an extent that the energy is said to be stressful.”  I agree.

Two triangle shapesmake up a square.
Split them up, they make two triangles (squished Trines).  Put them together, they make a square.
Make your square work for you.  Reap all the rewards and benefits from a square that you are meant to have. One Square makes two triangles or Trines.  A Trine is related to Jupiter. So that means BIG luck — the Jackpot, if you can successfully turn your square/s into Trines.
The Square is a HIGHER FORM of the Trine.  The Trine is wrapped in a constricting and protective Saturnian box.  Imagine the gift, the power contained within. The Trine is lazy; the Square tense.  The Trine privileged; the Square tested.  Should you choose to accept, your mission is to blast the box off the Square to get to the Diamond Mine of Trines.  Think Indiana Jones!! :) Think Zen Warrior!  Only those who can harness the power of a Square (Pandora’s Box) will succeed in receiving more gifts than one Trine bestows.

Turning a Square into a Trine/s

The basics in turning a SQUARE into a TRINE, Triangles goes something like this:
  1. Do the exact opposite of what you would normally or want to do. Do something different.
  2. Exercise discipline rather than restrict planetary themes and influence.  You know what I’m talking about.
  3. Channel the Trine sign attributes that reside next to the Square. A Square is 3 signs apart, a Trine 2 signs apart.  So if your Square is created by the signs Sagittarius and Pisces, channel Scorpio to replace Sag. Or Aries replaces Pisces to create a Trine with Sagittarius.  It’s helpful to select a sign that’s already in Trine so you can get the most out of the transmutation process.

Visual Representations: Manifesting The Miracle

Square.

90° angle. Three signs apart.

Trine.

120° angle. Four signs apart. An isosceles triangle.
Space taken up by a trine compared to a square. See the trine hidden inside the box? Also see the other two triangular spaces?
A square split in half, makes two right-angle triangles (trine-like) on either side.
Two trines back-to-back on its side.
Two trines back-to-back on its side and a square turned on its side to make the shape of a diamond or star! Once you turn the Square around, harnessing its power, you get two Trines bursting outside of the square – no longer contained!

Progressed Venus

Progressed charts are calculated by adding one day for each year you are born to your natal chart. For example, if you were born on January 1, 1980, and you are now 25 years old, your progressed chart would be calculated by drafting a chart for January 26, 1980. Progressions show trends which set off major events in your life, and are reinforced by the transits you are experiencing at the time.
One of the most reliable indications in the progressed chart of meeting a new mate is to look at the condition of your progressed Venus in your Chart, as well as progressions to your natal Venus by other planets. Here are some progressions which indicate the beginning of an important relationship.
  • Progressed Venus to Ascendant/Descendant axis: The Ascendant/Descendant axis represents the “self” and the “other”. The Ascendant represents our self-image and how we approach the world, while the Descendant represents our one-on-one partnerships, including marriage partners and business associates. When progressed Venus makes an aspect to our AC/DC axis, we feel more sociable, attractive, and loving, which helps us attract partners into our lives. The same goes for when progressed Ascendant aspects one’s natal Venus. For example, I met my first boyfriend when progressed Venus was sextile my natal Ascendant.
  • Progressed Venus to natal Sun: This is one of the most reliable indications of the beginning of a major relationship. This is often the time when we meet the “love of our life”. This is also true of progressed Sun aspecting one’s natal Venus. Both progressions indicate a time where we feel most attractive, and thus our powers of attraction are most potent. This is often the time we meet our marriage partner.
  • Progressed Venus to natal Moon: This progression brings about a loving relationship which is often characterised by feelings of dependency, mutual support, and emotional development. The conjunction, sextile, and trine bring generally pleasing, supportive contacts, while the square and opposition often bring resistance and adjustments in regards to the direction of your relationship. The same goes for progressed Moon to Venus contacts.
  • Progressed Venus to natal Mars: This progression often brings about an intense, sexual union. Passion is at the forefront of your relationships. This can also indicate a time in which you meet the person you have children with.
  • Progressed Venus to Jupiter: This progression often brings about partners from a foreign culture. Events like marriage are likely to take place during this progression. This also indicates a positive time for socializing and making new friends. The same goes for progressed Jupiter on one’s natal Venus.
  • Progressed Venus to Saturn: This progression can bring about heavy commitments, and might bring relationships with older partners. This time is wonderful for beginning long-term relationships, such as marriage. This is especially true of Venus conjunct, sextile, or trine one’s natal Saturn. In fact, my mother met my father when Venus was conjunct her natal Saturn. My father is 12 years older than my mother. The square and opposition tend to have the opposite effect; it is a time of loneliness and disconnect from others. Venus has just moved one degree past squaring my natal Saturn, and I couldn’t be happier about it. The last few years have been incredibly unsuccessful in regards to love, my sense of loneliness increased greatly, and my social life was practically non-existent.
  • Progressed Venus to Uranus: This progression brings different, exciting relationships into our lives. We reject convention and tradition under this influence, so this transit can also be an indication of separation from a partner in favor of a more exciting, yet unstable, relationship. This is a time where your love life takes a “walk on the wild side” with someone different than what you’re used to. For example, your new mate could be from a different cultural background, or you may begin a long-distance relationship. Hard aspects between progressed Venus and Uranus are especially indicative of (sudden) separations.
  • Progressed Venus to Neptune: This progression can indicate the time when you find your soul mate. Your sensitivity and compassion for others increases during this time, and you feel more open to love in general. If the progression is a square or opposition, you may be deceived or disillusioned by a mate. The trine and sextile are generally positive times. Marriages often occur under this influence.
  • Progressed Venus to Pluto: This progression awakens powerful emotions, and changes the way you approach love and sexuality, as well as intimacy. This is a time when we are attracted to the taboo and the forbidden, and this can manifest through our choice of partner (i.e. falling in love with an “unavailable” person), or through sex (exploring sexual taboos with one’s partner). Relationships begun under this transit are marked by intensity, obsession, possessiveness, and power games. The sextile and trine are intense in a pleasing, manageable way, while the conjunction, square, and opposition can lead to extreme jealousy, obsession, and even sexual/financial exploitation or abuse.

Prediction in Astrology

Understanding the basics is very important in prediction.
There are various methods of prediction.

1. Progressions: One day represents one year in the life, using an ephemeris.
2. Transits: Where the planets are at in the sky at a certain time and how they affect the planets in one's natal chart.
3. Solar returns: when the Sun comes back to its degree and minute, a chart is cast for the entire year.
4. Lunar returns: when the Moon comes back to its degree and minute, a chart is cast for the entire month.
5. Solar arc progressions: The planets are progressed as far as the progressed Sun has traveled; one day for a year, using an ephemeris.
6. Regressed day for year planets: Instead of going forwards, these go backwards from the birthday.

To get a really clear, accurate picture of events that will occur in the life, one should blend all of the interpretations from the above methods. Take EVERYTHING into consideration. The more supporting aspects and such, the more certain that accurate predictions can be made. When an important event is about to manifest in one's life, this can often be seen in all of the above methods of prediction.

ONE DAY FOR ONE YEAR: PROGRESSIONS:
One day for each year progressions are used for the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, and the four angles [the ascendant, midheaven, IC, and descendant]. The outer planets move too slowly for this particular method. The midnight date and the noon dates determine the 6 months for the year in question; this is especially helpful in charting the course of the Moon, as it moves faster than the other planets.

A day for a year. For example, if you are 25, count forwards from your birthday, beginning one day after your birthday to 25 days, using an ephemeris. If there are planets on that date aspecting your natal planets within 1-2 degrees orb, an event will occur in your life. For example, if your natal Sun [at the time of your birth] is 20 degrees into Virgo and you just turned 25, you count down the page to 25 days after your birthday and say you find Venus is now at 19 degrees, almost 20 degrees into Virgo, rest assured, within the year, you will be involved in a very significant love interest, relationship or possible marriage. With the online astrology charts, one no longer has to use old-fashioned calculations. The above is for your information, as to how this works.

TRANSITS:

Transits are where the planets are now in the sky above, and the aspects [if any] they are making to your birth planets. Again, if significant aspects are made, events will occur given the natures of the planets involved. Transits cover the slower moving planets: Mars [when retrograde], Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. In some cases, the Sun, Mercury or other faster moving planet can act as a trigger, but not as a major influence. Eclipses and lunations are also important here.

The degrees of orb are wider with transits in contrast to the 1-2 degree orbs with progressions. Orbs are the degrees the planets have influence. In natal astrology, the orbs for transiting planets are 8-10 degrees for the Major aspects: the conjunction, the square, the trine and the opposition. With the lesser aspects such as the sextile, the orb of influence is 5-6 degrees. The semi-sextile, quintile, and sesi-square have only 1-2 degrees of influence regarding their orbs. For example, say one has their Jupiter at 2 degrees of Virgo and their Pluto at 7 degrees of Virgo. This is a conjunction as the two planets are within 5 degrees of orb. There are five degrees separating Jupiter and Pluto here. Now, say if Pluto was at 18 degrees of Virgo, the conjunction would not apply, as there are 16 degrees between the two planets, making the influence for a conjunction too wide.

Remember, for progressed planets the orbs are tight: 1-2 degrees only.
For example, say Pluto is squaring one's Moon, indicating a significant domestic change. The Moon is 11 degrees into Pisces. Pluto is now at 16 degrees of Sagittarius. Pluto still has influence. I have found the closer the aspect in MOST cases, the event will take place, but there have been some instances where the event occurred when the planets were separated by 9-10 degrees. Therefore, Pluto will have influence over the above example's Moon until it is past 21 degrees of Sagittarius, and out of orb.

I have also found in most cases, a transiting planet approaching a natal planet within 2-4 degrees, even before it makes an exact conjunction with that planet, it can set off an event. Be aware as any slow moving transiting planet approaches within 5 degrees of a natal planet. If nothing happens, still be aware, as events can occur at any time when the transiting planet is within orb of the natal planet. This also includes retrograding planets. When the retrograde planet passes over the natal planet, then stations and backs up retrograde, when it is within orb of the natal planet, it can set off an event. The closer it gets to the natal planet in degrees, the more likelihood the event will take place.

SOLAR RETURNS:

One's upcoming year astrologically, always begins on one's birthday. The exact time the transiting Sun conjoins the natal Sun to the degree, minute and second, a chart is cast that reveals the planetary influences for the coming year. Further information is given by casting a chart when the transiting Sun squares [is 90 degrees] from, and opposes [180] the natal Sun. This will break the year down into three month parts.

For example say your Sun is 10'44"16 into Gemini. When the transiting Sun comes to 10'44"16 of Gemini, the exact time this occurs, a chart is cast. When the transiting Sun is at 10'44"16 into Virgo [90 degrees away], a chart is cast and is called a "quarter return." The quarter return has lesser influence than the solar return and basically acts as a timer for the events predicted in the solar return chart. When the Sun is 10'44"16 into Sagittarius [180 degrees away from the natal Sun], this marks approximately six months from one's birthday. I have noted in many cases [but not all], events predicted in the solar return often manifest after the transiting Sun opposes the natal Sun at 180 degrees. Six month solar charts have more influence than quarter charts, but again, this is not a rule. When the transiting Sun is at 10'44"16 into Pisces, you have the last three months of your year.

In a solar return degrees are VERY important, but most famous astrologers who write the books do not know this or much else on how to interpret them for that matter. The solar return must be blended with the progressions, transits and other predictive data.

For example, say with your solar return chart, the midheaven is 0 degrees into Taurus, with solar return chart ruler, the Sun [for Leo on the solar return ascendant] conjunct the Moon in the second [money] house. [New Moons in a solar return are very significant and indicate important beginnings], along with SR midheaven ruler, Venus in the 1st house, placing emphasis on the 10th house of career for upcoming events. Planets in the first house of a solar return place an emphasis on the events of the house they rule in the SR chart and also in the natal chart. Chances are, with the above influences, one will begin a new career.

LUNAR RETURNS:

Lunar returns are very similar to solar returns, with the exception that they are cast for one's Moon each month. Lunar returns reveal events for each month. The solar return has the most influence for predicting events throughout one's year. The lunar return will reflect the events predicted with the solar return, and often act as a timer.

SOLAR ARC PROGRESSIONS:

Solar arc progressions are good for progressing the outer planets, as they move too slowly for the day per year method. I have found these to be weaker in influence, than the standard progressions. The Sun moves a certain number of degrees each day. As with the day for a year progressions, count the number of number of days in age. Look to the position of the Sun at that date. It has moved a certain number of degrees. Add this number of degrees to all of the natal planets. 1-2 degrees orb still applies here and if there is an aspect/s one will experience an event.

REGRESSED PLANETS:

These are somewhat weak. Regressions are mainly used to reveal trends in past lives. You count backwards in years.

You have charm and sex appeal aplenty, a spacious view of the world and are an exhilarating - if challenging - lover. Your ability to talk about fantasies makes your own bedtime stories completely irresistible.
3rd Decan » 9th - 18th February: Influenced by Venus you are less cerebral, less objective and more involved and still-centred than the pure Aquarian. Peace, calm and friendship sustain you. You are doubly idealistic, adoring, forgiving, a gentle lover with an artist's soul and you excel at creative endeavours.

Take a look at our Pisces Gift Ideas1st Decan » 19th - 29th February: Ruled by Neptune you are an intriguing being, at once unassuming and inspirational, a romantic who gives with both hands. You are wise and profound, an attuned lover and adaptable mate. Work with people or animals suits you. Love, not money, is the be-all for you.
2nd Decan » 1st - 10th March: Influenced by the Moon you are gentle and nurturing with a double capacity for kindness. You have a soul-deep response to beauty and an artistic talent that can earn a fortune - although you can create a lovely home on a shoestring. As a lover you are sweet, devoted and aware, with a talent for inventing and then fulfilling intriguing fantasies.
3rd Decan » 11th - 20th March: Influenced by Pluto you are atypically shrewd and intense, spookily intuitive, powerfully passionate and phenomenally smart at work. And you're sexually magnetic! You are a loyal lover and dynamic worker who can seemingly spin flax into gold time after time.

Venus-Saturn Aspects—Good Qualities You Wouldn’t Suspect

Venus-Saturn aspects are often given entirely negative interpretations, but speaking as one who has the conjunction, it gets better and better as life goes on. In my 70s, I feel more comfortable and happy in social situations than I ever have in my life.
Because of their stability, work ethic, and willingness to support those with similar goals, youthful people with Venus–Saturn conjunctions and trines often attract friends  among successful, slightly older people who then become mentors and protectors.
One reader asked whether grandparents played a major role in the upbringing of a Venus-Saturn person.  Yes,I often see that a grandparent was a loving and major influence in the person’s life, and that the person may have taken on some of the grandparent’s better qualities.
Love affairs in youth often involve older partners— almost like father or mother figures — who help them acquire a social polish that might not have been learned at home. (It’s an aspect that often confers upward mobility.) At midlife and beyond, their partners are often younger.
Not as trendy and fashion-forward as Venus–Jupiter or Venus–Uranus people in their sense of beauty, Venus–Saturn folks are likely to have an elegant, classical look. In fact, there’s an air about many of them that just says class. They often age beautifully — it’s those enviable cheekbones. They grow in poise and confidence as they come into their own, professionally and socially.
Venus–Saturn people might be rather reserved and formal, but they’re solid and steady, a source of practical support and sage advice when you need them. If you asked their help in moving, they’d have your move organized and a reliable moving company hired before you finished asking.
There is a kind of luck that happens with Venus–Saturn aspects, since Venus (along with Jupiter) is a good luck planet. Because of Saturn’s presence, there are windfalls due to an innate instinct of timing — being the right person in the right place at the right time. Then, too, you’ve worked hard to prepare for what you’ll be doing, so your good fortune isn’t entirely an accident. With breaks like these, observers rightfully remark, “You must be living right.”
Maturing with Style and Grace: The Promise of Venus and Saturn
Just as Uranus is the planet most associated with adolescence and young adulthood, Saturn is the planet most associated with the later decades, especially those after our second Saturn return at ages 58–60. Many of the women with this aspect seem to age gracefully, with a more chiseled profile, silver hair, and an increasingly elegant fashion sense.
Part of what makes this type so striking is the poise and confidence that come with having risen to the top of whatever hierarchy matters to them, whether it’s a pinnacle of career achievements or of social status.
In her 70s, Tina Turner continued to be a knockout — incredible legs and all — in her concert tours. Other female stars with Venus–Saturn trines whose appeal seems to grow rather than fade are Halle Berry, Nicole Kidman, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.
If you have a Venus–Saturn aspect of any sort, you too can hope to get better as you get older, but if you have the trine, you probably already possess many of the necessary qualities. A classic style quite possibly comes more naturally to you than to most people, and the mature years are bound to be your best ever. We’re old a lot longer than we’re young, and there’s no reason that we can’t live and love and keep on growing for all of our years.
Who are the Venus-Saturn People? Celebrities  born with Venus and Saturn conjunct—the strongest connection between these two planets—include Matt Damon, Donald Trump, Denzel Washington, Ashley Judd, Vanessa Williams, Queen Latifah, and Sean Penn.

Sun/Moon Midpoint in synastry

When one of your inner planets (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) or important points (North/ South Node, Vertex, Sun/Moon midpoint, Ascendant/Descendant, IC/MC axis) makes a hard aspect (conjunction, square, opposition) to another person’s Sun/Moon midpoint, a significant bond is indicated.

The Sun/Moon Midpoint in Synastry

The Sun/Moon midpoint is a very sensitive point, which represents the synthesis of one’s ego expression and emotional energy. This point has been said to represent a point of “inner marriage” and represents our closest relationships, as it represents the synthesis of our masculine (Sun) and feminine (Moon) energies.

You’ll often find synastry aspects involving the Sun/Moon midpoint in the synastry charts of significant relationships. In this case, the planet person brings the Midpoint person’s feminine and masculine energies together, making them feel complete. The person whose Sun/Moon midpoint is activated is likely to feel more balanced around the planet person. You feel like you belong together, and the attraction is irresistible. The Midpoint person is generally the one who feels more attracted, based on this aspect.

Synastry Aspects

Sun to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The Sun person’s inner being and overall personality make the midpoint owner feel content and complete. The midpoint owner is likely to feel they have met the “one” in the Sun person.

Moon to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The way the Moon person expresses her feelings makes the midpoint owner feel understood and loved. The midpoint owner is likely to feel comforted in the presence of the Moon person.

Mercury to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The way the Mercury person communicates makes the midpoint owner feels comfortable and understood. The midpoint owner is likely to feel accepted in the presence of the Mercury person.

Venus to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The way the Venus person shows affection, as well as Venus’ social graces and personal style, is very attractive to the midpoint person. The midpoint owner is likely to feel accepted and in love in the presence of the Venus person.

Mars to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The Mars person’s sexual charisma and assertiveness energizes the midpoint person. The midpoint person is likely to feel more proactive and assertive in the presence of the Mars person.

Ascendant to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The physical appearance of the Ascendant person is likely to make the midpoint person feel attracted, as well as secure in their own self-expression.

IC/MC axis to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: The career or status of the MC person is likely to help the midpoint owner succeed in their own career. In addition, since the IC is involved, the midpoint owner is likely to feel “at home” with the IC person.

North/South Node to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: This is a karmic connection. The Nodes represents one’s destiny. When this aspect is present in synastry, the union is fated, and the couple has a past-life connection.

Vertex to Sun/Moon midpoint aspects: This aspect indicates a fated, karmic connection. The two of you feel as though you are meant to be with each other. This is likely to be a life-changing relationship.

Natal Venus trine Saturn

What happens when Venus trines Saturn in a native’s natal chart? Venus is considered as one of the most beneficial planets of our Solar system, while Saturn as a malefic. When the two planets form a trine aspect in a chart, their energies flow harmonically, allowing their best qualities to bloom in the chart owner’s reality.

The trine aspect means that the two planets are about 120 degrees apart in the zodiac circle, and in case they are indeed exactly in such an angle the aspect is in its full power. Nevertheless, it rarely happens that two planets form exactly 120 degrees between them; thus there exists an orb of approximately 7 degrees on either side, where the planetary relation is still considered a trine. The further away it is from the exact trine, the less strong is the influence of the planets’ aspect in the life of the native. We should though mention, that in case the orb is less than 3 degrees, the aspect has enough strength to have drastic effects on the chart owner.

Venus is the planet of plentifulness, beauty, joy and love. Full of positive energy, when in trine with another planet it strengthens its powers and blunts its destructive energy. Saturn is considered a malefic, because he is usually teaching in hard ways the human beings. Nevertheless, a lot of positive can derive from him. He is governing stability, maturity, and when in a good aspect with Venus his coldness and melancholy are dissolved by the Venusian rays.

When someone has a trine between Venus and Saturn, it usually signifies a loving grandparent. The person usaully receives a lot of love from elderly people in his early life, and learns to love and respect the third age. There is high possibility of taking care or being friends with people lot older in age, which in the end has a great effect on the person’s karma. Saturn’s transits are not so difficult periods as to other people, and the planet acts mostly as a gentle teacher and not as a pushy one.
They are usually cautious in love, knowing exactly what they want to give and receive spiritually when in a bond with another person. Their long-term relationships tend to be very flourishing, keeping the spark of love lot longer than others do. Long-term partners are chosen carefully, as they like people with whom there is mutual respect. They are feeling lot more comfortable in a long term relationship, as they find little meaning in casual adventures. Even their short love stories involve a deep human connection between the partners, at least from their side.

The same cautious attitude they have towards money. They are not stingy, but keep a constructive eye on their spendings, and do not indulge in overexpenses. Saturn, as a planet highly responsible for poverty issues, does not put his grim hand on them – in periods of crises they still have what they need materially and financially. This is even more frequent when either Venus or Saturn are in the 2nd or 8th house, or either of the two planets is governing these houses. Of course, there should be no other adverse aspects of malefics imposed on the two planets; otherwise the whole outcome is different.

Natives with Saturn trining Venus are usually becoming good parents, and even better grandparents. They teach their children and grandchildren with care, raising them to become conscious and respective to others. They like encouraging younger people to develop their own character, rather than trying to impose them role models that they should follow.

The natives with such a placement are very aware of self-discipline. There is high possibility that they learnt it through osmosis from an elder person in their early years, and it is quite possible to achieve success in the life departments that this planetary aspect takes place. They are late bloomers, and success usually comes after their 35th birthday. They have strong work ethics, and usually attract older people as friends, who tend to become their protectors and advisors. The good relationship with grandparents is usually a pattern that builds a great approach to all elders, thus it is very easy for a native to enter circles of influential elder people which will make him feel a part of it. Also, this placement makes leveling up in groups or organizations easy, as the people who are higher in the hierarchy are seeing a lot of potential in the native and act in favor of him.

If Venus or Saturn are in the 5th or in the 7th house, the love affairs of the natives involve older partners quite often. When in the 7th, there is also possibility of marriage with an older partner, especially if Venus is present at the end of the trine. If it is Saturn that is present in the 7th, it can give a quite long relationship with an elder person, but block marriage as a ceremony and papers.

They tend to be old-fashioned, preferring to be dressed well but classical. They like elegance, but usually do not experiment with extremes in their look. The right word to be used for such kind of natives is “classy”. People with such a placement are fortunate enough to age beautifully – sometimes when their hair begins to become silver they are even more beautiful than in their young ages.
Natives with Saturn trinng Venus are usually quite lucky. When Venus is present in the 2nd, 8th or 11th house, there are possibilities of unexpected windfalls of money. There can be reappearing incidents of being in the right place at the right time, even if there usually is a background of working towards that type of goals.

Usually, the more they age, the less problems they have. This could be also a reason behind their graceful ageing, as happiness is carved on their faces and stabilizing their look in such a way. They do not age harshly, and usually look younger than their age, although their hair can start changing color a lot earlier.

Saturn trine Venus is a great aspect to have, as it softens the role of the greatest malefic. People with such a placement are considered to be lucky, or to carry good Karma from previous lives, as Saturn is highly responsible about Karma. In the present life, one could mention that the blessings of the elder people towards them empowered their reality, and that the prayers of their beloved grandparents materialized.

This means, that the body, the mind, and the behavior of the native are largely influenced by this house and any planet or mathematical point that is positioned inside it. Everything that has to do with one’s appearance falls under rulership of this house. The areas close to the ascendant are responsible for the physical self, while areas near to the cusp of the second house represent mostly behaviors; thus it is also ruling style, clothing and everything artificial that is part of the native. Read more about the First house and the life areas it represents.

Planets That Conjunct the Ascendent

If you have a planet conjunct the ASC, people will see it. You won’t be able to hide it, even if you want. You may want to but it is futile. You may as well learn about it( because it is not going away). That is what this article is about——-Planets that conjunct the ASC.

1, Chiron conjunct the ASC- –I seem to specialize in this because I seem to have “discovered” that it means severe bullying. I am not saying I discovered this, per se . I just have never seen it stated by anyone else and I found it by doing charts. Hence, I tried to understand why and came upon some conclusions. If humans see pain, they attack. Why is this? Fear, probably. Not all humans are bullies but enough are that a person with this placement will go through a version of hell on earth.

2. Moon conjunct the ASC–this is said to give a person good looks. In my experience, this is true. They may have an adorable baby face. This person will wear his heart on his sleeve, no matter what else he has in his charrt, even a strong secretive Pluto. The Moon conjunct the ASC or MC will show his heart to the world. I have the Moon conjunct the MC, so know about this. The ASC is slightly different, in that it relates to his normal life and not his career life. Trying to separate these is artificial . Both placements show their hearts. However, the ASC placement shows his heart more in daily life. The MC placement shows his heart more in his career and to society, in general. I do agree about this. I am not as open in my daily life as I am in my career. The chart never lies down to the very details.

3. Neptune conjunct the ASC–I have heard that people with this get bullied. I have 2 accounts of this but that is all. I do know that it gives a glamorous sense to the person as in a Jackie O. She may have had this. For the native, it gives an amorphous sense of self, which is HARD. I have Neptune in the 1st House and I struggle to feel whole and not fragmented. Conjunct the ASC is very much stronger and so they struggle to feel solid. If people see this, that could bring out bullying.

4. Pluto conjunct the ASC is very different from any of the above. It is a powerhouse and comes by it naturally. You will love him or hate him, but you WON”T miss him. He is large. He walks and talks large. If it is a woman, she walks and talks large, even if she is petite. Pluto conj the ASC is the sign of the leader. He will not be bullied into taking a sheeple position so he can fit in. He was not made to fit in but to stand out. I love this position as you know where you stand and that means a lot in this day of airy, fairy political correctness.

5.Mars conjunct the ASC—This is a wonderful placement and horrible placement. I think we can say that about this. It gives the person get up and go and great assertiveness. However, these traits may make the person obnoxious. If you have Mars conjunct the ASC, be careful you are not obnoxious and alienate people. These people do not seem to realize that they are alienating people until everyone leaves and they don’t know why. Check yourself before you wreck yourself as Ali G says.

6.Venus conjunct the ASC–Just as Mars conjunct the ASC may be obnoxious, Venus conjunct the ASC is charming. This placement confers beauty and grace. You will feel it from the person and you will enjoy being in his/her presence. This placement is a pure gift.

7.Mercury conjunct the ASC—This placement gives a warm, friendly, chatty vibe to the native. They are good listeners and curious about all things. They may have an impish look to them, as if they are conjuring up mischief and they probably are.

8. Sun Conjunct ASC–these natives have a natural self confidence. It is a gift but they have to be careful that they are not too self centered. There is a balance. Self confidence is needed. However, there is a fine line between self centered and self confidence. This is a struggle for every human being but more so for the person with Sun conjunct the ASC. In this case, look to the house in which Leo is on the cusp. That sphere of life will be what the native brings to the world.

9. Jupiter conj the ASC–I have saved the best for last. Jupiter is opening presents on Christmas day. Jupiter just feels good. We all like to be near a “feel-good” person. This native is popular because he spreads feel good vibes like fairy dust. He does not have to try. They exude from him. He may have a hard time controlling his weight. Jupiter enlarges what it touches. It gives him a big spirit in the manner of Santa Claus but santa had a weight problem, too.

10. Uranus conjunct the ASC–We can say weird-o in one word. Does weird have to be bad? No, only weirdos take risks to provide growth for the rest of us. Any great reformer was a weirdo until time caught up with him. That may have been long after his death, as isthe case with many great musicians, poets and artists. Uranus conjunct the ASC will show his individuality, somehow. He may dress weird, wear strange make-up or have an opinion that makes everyone spill his drink at the cocktail party. The Unaspected Uranus is the most beautiful Unaspected Planet, in my opinion. Here is a person who is totally himself. Don’t we all want that?

11. Saturn conjunct the ASC–This can be a mixed bag but mostly hard. The good part would be that they can have beautiful facial structure in the way of an Angelica Huston. It will be strong and very dignified looking. The bad part is that they can have bone and teeth problems. I know one Saturn conjunct the ASC who had a dentist break his baby tooth such that the adult tooth grew in weird. I know several Capricorn ASC’s ( which is similar) who have had long beak like noses and many got nose jobs.

Emotionally, Saturn conjunct the ASC can make a person grow up fast. He will have the persona of an old man when he is a child. Do you know those children who look like wise old men. I bet they have Saturn conjunct the ASC or a Capricorn ASC.

Angularity

$
0
0
In any given area of life, most people are milling around aimlessly, waiting for someone to tell them what to do, and there’s a small minority of people giving all the orders. These latter people are symbolized in astrology as those who have angular planets (planets located within six degrees of the Ascendant, Descendant, Midheaven, and Nadir). Actually, angular-planet people don’t know much more about what’s happening than anyone else, but they seem to: they have a facility for projecting the impression that they know what they’re doing.  There’s a self-assurance and economy to their actions that induce other people to defer to them and cede them the lead.

Angularity symbolizes a sense of belonging, of being in the know, on the inside track.  Angular types are not unconventional, but rather are above convention. They go through the motions of meeting – indeed, exceeding – social expectations; but they put very little importance upon appearances. They are aware (as most people are not) that social conventions and expectations are wholly arbitrary and not to be taken too seriously.  Therefore, they are able to make social role-playing a joyous, fulfilling, fruitful activity, rather than an onerous or daunting enterprise.

Practically everyone is personally ambitious; what distinguishes angular types from the rest is their understanding that there is a science to life – a technology for getting what you want.  They don’t sit around waiting for their “lucky break” to drop down from heaven; nor do they just put in the time while slowly moving up the ranks.  They intuit that life is a game, with definite rules – definite steps and decisions that can be made to succeed in the game.  Where most people obey the rules, or more accurately, stumble around in the dark trying to figure out what the rules are, angular types make the rules.

Angular types possess a talent for self-promotion, not in an officious way, but with a definite noblesse oblige. In contrast to the strength conferred upon planets by virtue of their being posited in their ruling signs (such as the sun in Leo, moon in Cancer, Mercury in Gemini or Virgo, etc.), angular planets exhibit little exuberance or effusiveness. They possess a natural self-control which arises not so much from discipline as from a sense of ease, patience, and forbearance – a sense that life is at one’s service, so there is no need to be pushy or overreaching.  There is nothing blatant or indelicate about angular planets; their energy is not expended needlessly in demonstrativeness or attitudinizing, but is conserved, held back in reserve until needed.

People with angular planets are the winners in life because they make that assumption – that they are winners.  And because it’s lonely at the top, angular planets also indicate a certain solitude and isolation:  disinterestedness, detachment, impartiality regarding others. If those with angular planets quite consciously manipulate people and make decisions for the group, they also understand the responsibility that this entails.

Angular planets give people that sense of easy self-assurance associated with being a member of the ruling class. In earlier ages this meant membership in the aristocracy; in today’s meritocracy it shows the educated and upwardly mobile as well as those born in the upper classes of society.  People born in the upper classes have a winning attitude inculcated into them from birth (that they “belong”, that they are destined to rule), which is why angularity is associated with high social class and success in life. The members of the upper classes were historically the people who were “bred” to lead and succeed.

Of course, there are always wealthy and upper-class natives who have no angular planets.  These are the ones on whom this born-to-command-and-control-one’s-destiny attitude doesn’t stick or fit properly. They turn it into an attitude of snobbery, or one that says that life owes them a living. In other words, although exposed to the “angular” attitude by virtue of their upbringing, they fail to catch the meaning of what a natural sense of prowess, adequacy, and leadership actually entails. They understand the superficial trappings of angularity (success) without grasping its essence (personal responsibility).

By the same token, there have always been instances of people born in the lower social classes who by sheer gumption raised themselves up in life in spite of all handicaps.  The people with no angular planets who “make it” on their own in a big way don’t contradict the theory; all this means is that these people made it even without a native sense of fitness to command.  Perhaps they stumbled into the limelight; or maybe they did it through driving ambition, determination, and force of will. In any case, this success will be found to have been accomplished as a freak of nature, or else as a tour de force, rather than as the end result of a natural process of unfoldment.  It means that these natives’ success in life was not the end result of a conscious sense of fitness but rather was the result of extraordinary talent, effort, or luck. In other words, success can come in spite of an absence of angular planets, but in that case the native has to work harder or hit the right combination of fortuitous circumstances in order to get the same effect.

It must also be noted that angularity shows nothing of the degree of success attained in life – whether the native set his or her sights high, or aimed for a comfortable niche; whether big success was attained with little pother, or at the cost of great sacrifice and suffering;  indeed, whether success was actually attained, or whether the native went crashing down in flames. This sort of information is shown by benefic / malefic angular planets, and by how well-aspected or afflicted they are.

All of the angles symbolize strategies for controlling relationships. What is shown is a deftness in handling people, getting one’s own way, getting other people to accept one on one’s own terms, bending other people to one’s own will; and these strategies are usually quite successful, which is why angularity is considered such a great strength. People with angular planets detach themselves from other people rather than allow themselves to be dragged along by others’ caprices.  Angularity produces a sense of fearlessness – or at least an insusceptibility to the doubts and second thoughts which hamper most people. Angular planet people need less validation and reassurance from others before they act.

All four angles show strategies for capitalizing (imposing one’s own rules) upon relationships, and the four angles symbolize four different types of relationships:

 The Ascendant (ASC) symbolizes casual relationships;
 The Descendant (DESC) symbolizes close relationships;
The Midheaven (MC) symbolizes group relationships; and
 The Nadir (IC) symbolizes solitude.

That is, the Ascendant shows a way of facing people (of coming onto them); the Descendant shows a way of getting around, through, or past people;  the Midheaven shows a way of dominating or directing people; and the Nadir shows a way of standing alone.

Planets conjunct the Ascendant symbolize a social ease, openness, candidness, straightforwardness – a way of laying all one’s cards on the table that cuts across the usual formalities and rituals which society imposes on casual relationships. These people have nothing to hide or apologize for, and nothing to fear or be ashamed of.  They feel no need to ward other people off through such defenses as pride, irritation, brusqueness, preoccupation, etc.  They are soft-spoken, yet firm and unyielding.  They have a clear sense of personal space – their own and other peoples’ – which is in no way puffed up or stiff.  They are calm and relaxed, with no need to prove themselves or allow other people to impose upon them. People with rising planets succeed by disarming others; they make direct eye contact and are frank and outspoken without being offensive. They manifest an intimacy which is neither warm, compassionate, nor sweet, but is genuine nonetheless.  They immediately put themselves on a personal basis with other people by being pleasant and inviting of manner, and by dealing with others on a basis of equality; and yet they are fundamentally cold – always maintaining their distance and reserve.

Planets conjunct the Descendant symbolize a species of psychological jujitsu – a way of winning people over by giving way to them. The action of a planet conjunct the Descendant is indirect; it reveals a basic stance or mood vis-à-vis other people rather than a superficial role being played. These planets let others take the lead overtly, directing the flow of things or pulling the strings from the background. Those with setting planets project a part of themselves onto other people, get other people to act out a role for them; therefore the action of a planet conjunct the Descendant can only be seen operating in close relationships, where propinquity and confinement make manipulation possible.  After a fashion, setting planets do describe the marriage (or business) partner in the sense that they symbolize what natives seek in partnership – what part of themselves they want others to act out openly for them.

Planets conjunct the Midheaven show people controlling or taking the lead in a group, putting themselves in the saddle, pushing themselves onward and upward.  Natives with these planets make a basic assumption of leadership or superiority (dominance): they possess a sense of special destiny and an urge to strike out on their own.  Where those with rising plants know who they are, those with culminating planets know where they’re going. They project a cool competence and expect to be looked up to and esteemed – role models for others to follow.  Planets conjunct the Midheaven have a parental or mother-hen sense to them – responsible and protective, but also tending to herd other people around.

Planets conjunct the Nadir symbolize rootedness, conservatism, stability, staying power,  firmness.  Natives with these planets have an ability to remain unmoved and unruffled, to withstand the pressures of daily living by tuning into deeper currents or meanings in life.  While all the angles symbolize a “holding apart” from other people, the Nadir especially symbolizes going it alone.  Planets conjunct this angle don’t wait for others, rely on others, or depend on others.  There is a spiritual manifestation with this angularity rather than a material one: from the spiritual point of view, the Nadir is actually the most powerful angle, since it is not as tied to the standards of success in society as are the other three angles – it shows a self-validating form of strength.

The following table gives key words for the various planets when angular. For example, the keyword for the moon when conjunct any angle is emotional.  Thus the moon conjunct the Ascendant shows emotional intimacy = tender; the moon conjunct the Descendant shows emotional manipulation = fervent;  the moon conjunct the Midheaven shows emotional dominance = protective ; and the moon conjunct the Nadir shows emotional firmness = whole-hearted.

Sun/ASC – Sincere – you are down-to-earth, earnest, and plain-spoken.  You have a sense of rightful place and fitness, and you are self-assured in any social situation without being snobbish or pushy (complacent).  You command respect by your sheer reasonableness and unruffled insouciance.

Sun/DESC – Influential – You are unassuming and solicitous, but don’t permit others to get too close or too personal (cold).  Egalitarian and encouraging, others nonetheless quite naturally defer to your authoritativeness and resolve.

Sun/MC – Utopian – You dedicate your life to a cause or belief system, and measure your progress against some abstract standard of morality and comportment, rather than in terms of social rewards (superiority). Where most people are intent upon the path beneath their feet, you are always looking beyond the horizon towards an ideal reality.

Sun/IC – Staunch – Low-key and polite, you are also resolute, unyielding, and possess an unflagging perseverance and determination (obstinacy).  Other people rely upon your integrity, scrupulousness, and deep sense of personal honor.

Moon/ASC – Tender – You are soft, gentle, innocent, and easily moved (wounded).  You show your feelings quite openly – you wear your heart on your sleeve – which makes you a sympathetic listener on the one hand, and outspoken and tart on the other.

Moon/DESC – Fervent – You are lively, voluble, and vehement (touchy).  You possess an intense energy and sparkle which dazzles other people, and inclines them to accede to your wishes.

Moon/MC – Protective – You possess a refinement and delicacy (prissiness) that is attuned to psychological subtleties and the feelings of other people in your social milieu.  You project a sense of emotional equilibrium – of calm in the storm – to which others look for refuge.

Moon/IC – Whole-hearted – You are sensitive and tenacious, and responsive primarily to your own inner voice (solipsistic). You are self-reliant and prefer being alone and on your own in life.

Mercury/ASC – Fresh – You are artless and guileless (naïve). You have a youthfulness and eagerness that take delight in the simplest of things.  You inspire others with your high spirits and cheerfulness.
Mercury/DESC – Judicious – You possess a down-home simplicity and objectivity (remoteness), and you are willing to take other people’s feelings and viewpoints into account. You are believable and reasonable, and hence inspire the trust of others.

Mercury/MC – Glib – You are unabashed, frank, and cocky (brusque). You are a good talker, offering a wry and perceptive commentary on the passing scene. You have a highly original point of view and slant on life, and are a wellspring of good ideas.

Mercury/IC – Canny – You are cool-headed and high-principled, with keen powers of analysis (cynical).  You are shrewd and emotionally guarded, with a capacity for sober judgment in any emergency.

Venus/DESC – Game – You are plucky, experimentative, and willing to give other people’s ideas and impulses a shot (gullible). People are swayed by your naïve enthusiasm and buoyancy even in the face of difficulties.

Venus/MC – Feisty – You are irreverent and possess a devil-may-care alacrity (peppery). You are a good facilitator because you have a mischievous, elfin, or saucy quality which seduces the acquiescence of others, making any activity enjoyable.

Venus/IC – Gracious – You are obliging, mannerly, and correct (stuffy).  You are meticulous and orderly, and are repelled by any harshness or indelicacy. You strive to create an agreeable and congenial environment for yourself and the people around you.

Mars/ASC – Adamant – You are unflinching, and possess the ability to stand fast and hold your own in the face of adversity (contrary). Your placid, tractable exterior barely conceals an intense, high-wire energy. You are blunt, outfront, and do not shy from expressing your opinions.

Mars/DESC – Steadfast – You are mild of manner, but iron-willed (headstrong).  You are good-natured and obliging in the nonessentials, and have a knack for being forceful and unyielding without being overreaching or giving needless offense.

Mars/MC – Gutsy – You are fearless and adventurous (pigheaded).  You are willing to take risks and to fly with your gut-level hunches, and you have a knack for always landing on your feet.
Mars/IC – Assiduous – You hold your feelings inside, keep a stiff upper lip, and cannot be diverted or deflected (heedless). You have good powers of concentration and the ability to bring all your energy to bear upon your project or object of the moment.

Jupiter/ASC – Understanding – You are hopeful and altruistic (know-it-all).  You prefer harmony and coexistence with other people, and take pains to respect their feelings and give them their due. You are not so much compassionate or sympathetic as humane, with a feeling of detached good will towards men.

Jupiter/DESC – Avuncular – You have a benevolent and accepting outlook on life and other people, and are enthusiastic, forward-looking, and disinterested (haughty).  Your cheerfulness even in suffering calls up the sympathy and good wishes of others in turn.

Jupiter/MC – Perspicacious – You are a model of equanimity and patience (mulishness).  You are able to take a long view, and so are undaunted by temporary setbacks.  You are the backbone of any group because of your ironic good humor and ability to take difficulties in stride.

Jupiter/IC – Brisk – You are good-natured, tolerant, and resilient (above-it-all). You don’t take things personally, but have a smooth and lofty manner which minimizes friction and bother, and which keeps you free of compromising entanglements.

Saturn/MC – Dignified – You have a strong sense of being anyone’s equal (broody).  You permit no trespass upon your private space, and you endeavor not to depend too much upon others.  You are at your best when working by and for yourself.

Saturn/IC – Modest – You are plain, unvarnished, and unpretentious (undiplomatic). You are neither timid nor shy, but rather are unobtrusive. You hide nothing, defend nothing, and keep your distance by being wide-open and nonjudgmental.

Uranus/ASC – Eccentric – You are truly an original, with a unique and unusual point of view, and an unabashed indifference to what other people think of you (toughness). Although you have a strong character and let it all hang out, you aren’t pushy but are inclined to give others as much space as you demand for yourself.

Uranus/DESC – Spontaneous – You are forthright, self-sufficient, and impulsive (capricious).  Your imaginativeness, boldness, and irrepressibility create a momentum which sweeps other people up and carries them along.

Uranus/MC – Free-spirited – You are idealistic and visionary, and recognize no authority but your own (contumacious). You are perceptive and intellectually quick. You prefer to strike out on your own rather than conform to society’s expectations of you.

Uranus/IC – Fearless – You are dynamic, resourceful, and free-thinking (wrong-headed).  You have a capacity for plunging ahead and making sudden, drastic changes in your environment and life-style whenever your life situation becomes too restrictive.

Neptune/ASC – Attuned – You have a great capacity for understanding the feelings of others (moody).  You are able to pick up and address emotional undercurrents – what’s really going on beneath the surface – in any relationship. You are on your own wavelength:  not so much spaced-out as brooding and introspective.

Neptune/DESC – Aloof – You are genial and pleasant, but keep your own counsel (uncommunicative). You are neither selfish nor reclusive, but rather trust completely in your own instincts, and thus have little need for the reassurance of others.

Neptune/MC – Retiring – You follow the dictates of your own heart rather than worry about living up to some self-image.  Albeit outwardly sociable, this is just a mask you wear to fulfill other people’s expectations so that they’ll leave you alone (unmannerly).  You lack worldly ambition since your chief desire is for an island of peace unto yourself away from the clamor of the world.

Neptune/IC – Hopeful – You tend to be upright, principled, and high-minded (quixotic). You have a positive approach to life which looks to the good sides of people and events without being naïve or easily gulled.

Pluto/ASC – Flashy – You come on strong and make a powerful impression, though you have the saving grace of an ironic good-humor (obstinate). You are alert and opportunistic, driven by a high-wire energy.

Pluto/DESC – Cunning – You are outspoken and to the point (sarcastic), and have a gift for seeing clearly through superficial role-playing and posturing. You are able to avoid the snares of other people because you are alert to their covert manipulation, and you are not afraid to call a spade a spade.

Pluto/MC – Competent – You are confident and decisive, and believe that you are capable of anything (snobbish).  Together with your can-do optimism you are thorough, meticulous, and willing to go to any extreme to implement your vision.

Pluto/IC – Stubborn – You are self-assured and opinionated (deaf). You are capable of taking a position and making a stand without being arrogant or offensive.  Overtly agreeable and tractable, you are skilled in the art of winning acquiescence without yielding an inch.

Ruler DESC conjunct DESC – Self-contented – You are breezy, insouciant, and unaffected (self-centered).  You are confident and have a positive outlook because you feel complete unto yourself. You don’t need (or leave much room for) the support of other people in your life.

Ruler MC conjunct MC – Self-sustaining – You have an unflagging faith in yourself and your ability to succeed (overweening). You are never at a loss, but are able to make the best of whatever situation you find yourself in.

Ruler IC conjunct IC – Self-cloistering – You are friendly and sociable, but fundamentally are a loner, and you find sustained contact with other people grating or enervating (self-pampering). You are happiest and do your best work alone, on your own.

Esoteric Astrology: The Journey of the Soul

Esoteric astrology is the astrology of the soul. The delineation of a natal chart from the soul-centred perspective focuses on the purpose of the soul, why we are here, where we have come from, and where we are heading. Traditional or exoteric astrology is the astrology of the personality. Its focus is on the problems and potentials of the personality.

The body of knowledge known as Esoteric Astrology is drawn from the Theosophical tradition and the teachings of the Tibetan teacher Djwhal Khul, as dictated to Alice A. Bailey. It is contained in a voluminous set of books which form a large part of what is referred to as the Ancient or Ageless Wisdom teachings.

Soul-centred astrology is based on the understanding that there is a spark of divinity, or 'soul' within each of us. According to this cosmology, reincarnation and the reality of the soul are accepted as fact. Many sense this divinity. The moments of deep insight, peace, awe, wonder, grace and love that we have all experienced at some time are voices from the Soul.

Some call this divinity God/Goddess, the Higher Self, the Core Self, the Transpersonal Self, the inner voice, the Buddha or Christ. It manifests as the religious urge in man/woman. Indeed, Carl Jung, in his book Modern Man in Search of a Soul, makes the astounding assertion that in thirty years of treating patients in the second half of life, their illness or neurosis was invariably the result of a lack of spiritual or religious meaning:

"....there has not been one whose problem in the last resort was not that of finding a religious outlook on life. It is safe to say that every one of them fell ill because he had lost that which the living religions of every age have given to their followers, and none of them has been really healed who did not regain his religious outlook."[1]

This soul, or divine spark, strives towards unity and perfection, and according to the Ancient Wisdom teachings, its motivation is selfless and its purpose is service to humanity or contribution to the greater whole. It is essentially a humanitarian philosophy and is therefore highly appropriate for our incoming Age of Aquarius. According to the Ancient Wisdom teachings, the structure of man/woman can be symbolically represented as a downward-pointing triangle (the personality) linked by the Antahkarana or Rainbow Bridge to an upward-pointing triangle (the soul). See Figure 1.

FIGURE 1

The highest goal of traditional or personality-centred astrology is the integration of the personality. This is achieved by recognising and striving to overcome the limitations and problems of the personality, such as physical excesses, emotional instability and negative thinking. The goal of personality integration is to bring the body, emotions and mind into a state of harmony. The orientation of many of the personal growth techniques and healing modalities is towards this end. For example, hatha yoga, nutrition and herbal medicine work on healing the physical body. The Bach Flower Remedies and counselling work on healing the emotional nature. Positive affirmations, Christian Science and prayer work on healing the mental nature.

The integration of the personality is an on-going process. Once this has been achieved to some degree, the goal becomes one of infusing the personality with the qualities of the soul, or to make the connection with the Higher Self. There are various techniques which can assist us to connect with the Soul or Higher Self. These include meditation, some forms of creative visualisation, dreamwork, psychosynthesis, artistic and musical expression, communing with nature, compassionate service, study of the Holy Scriptures and Ancient Wisdom classics, and so on.

The soul-infused personality is symbolically represented by the six-pointed star. See Figure 2. [3]
FIGURE 2
You will notice that the triangle of the Soul has a threefold nature corresponding to a higher octave of the personality vehicles. The physical body has its higher counterpart in Spiritual Will or Purpose. The emotional body has its higher counterpart in Universal Love, while the mental body or rational mind has its higher counterpart in Higher Mind.

There are several approaches to esoteric astrology, and it is indeed a complex body of knowledge. Therefore, I would like to keep it as simple as possible. One of the fundamental differences between esoteric and exoteric astrology is that both are based on a completely different set of planetary rulerships.

Some esoteric astrologers, such as Dr Douglas Baker, dismiss traditional astrology altogether and work only with the esoteric rulerships. Other esoteric astrologers, such as Alan Oken, recommend the interfacing or juxtaposing of the personality-centred chart with the soul-centred chart.

Another important point is that esoteric astrology has its foundation in an understanding of the Science of the Seven Rays. [4] This is a system of soul/personality typology and is referred to by Bailey as Esoteric Psychology. For the purposes of this article however, I am not going to deal with the Seven Rays, although their meanings are implicit within each of the astrological factors.

What I am presenting here is a somewhat eclectic approach which can only scratch the surface of this vast body of knowledge. There are a few basic principles which we can begin to work with straight away, and which will help us to shift the focus from personality problems and potential to spiritual purpose. I am not recommending that we forget the personality. I feel that it is still important to delineate the natal chart in the traditional way. But what we can do is add a soul-centred perspective to our traditional delineations.

The Ascendant
Perhaps you have felt that there is a deeper meaning to the Rising Sign than a mere description of the physical appearance, the persona or the manner in which we project ourselves? In esoteric astrology, the Ascendant is the key indicator of the Soul's Purpose. This does not mean that the empirical evidence of traditional astrology is invalid. What we can say is that the soul's purpose is projected through the persona at the Ascendant.

It is a tenet of traditional astrology that the Ascendant is symbolic of the birth or point of incarnation, of the entry of the soul onto the physical plane or the cross of matter. Esoteric astrology merely takes this a step further. If we look to the qualities of the sign on the Ascendant, we can glean valuable information about the nature of spiritual purpose and service.

The qualities of the Ascendant sign describe the future direction of the soul, what we are growing towards, or new qualities that we are developing.

In this respect, we can see its meaning as similar in flavour to the North Node, although I would suggest that the qualities of the houses and signs of the nodal axis tell us how we can achieve personality integration, or integration of the yin and yang within the personality. The quest of the hero as symbolised by the North Node is the quest of the personality.

The sign on the Ascendant indicates how we can best express our personality gifts to extend beyond ourselves to help others, or to help the planet as a whole. The house position of the esoteric ruling planet of the Ascendant indicates where these gifts and qualities are best expressed. It points to the field of service of the soul.

The Esoteric Rulerships of the Signs

These rulerships may seem odd at first, but a deeper study will reveal their significance.
Aries - Mercury
Taurus - Vulcan
Gemini - Venus
Cancer - Neptune
Leo - Sun
Virgo - Moon
Libra - Uranus
Scorpio - Mars
Sagittarius - Earth
Capricorn - Saturn
Aquarius - Jupiter
Pisces - Pluto
Vulcan is an undiscovered or hypothetical planet, and esoteric astrologers believe that it is located near the Sun. To date, there is no officially accepted ephemeris to calculate its position, and there are varying opinions as to Vulcan's actual distance from the Sun. The astrological software package Solar Fire, developed by Esoteric Technologies, offers two options for the calculation of Vulcan's position: the method of L.H. Weston or that of Dr Douglas Baker. [5] Note also that the position of the Earth is located directly opposite the Sun. For example, if the Sun is found at 9 degrees of Sagittarius, then the Earth will be found at 9 degrees of Gemini.

Some Ideas for Delineation

While there are 'esoteric' meanings for all the signs, planets and houses, the traditional meanings can still be applied in a simplified approach to a soul-oriented natal interpretation. We are not looking at 'negative' manifestations here. That is the realm of the personality-centred delineation. Of course, any personality problems or dilemmas are relevant in the soul-centred delineation, because they offer us an idea as to what is hindering or impeding the progress of the soul. The following are some suggestions for delineating the Ascendant from a soul-centred perspective:

If the Ascendant is in Leo, then the soul's purpose is to shine, to express one's creative gifts and facilitate leadership for the benefit of others. If the esoteric ruler, the Sun, is located in the 11th house, then the field of expression for the creative and leadership qualities is through group activity.

If the Ascendant is in Aries and the ruler, Mercury, is in the 6th house, then the soul's purpose is to inspire others with ideas, through one's work, through healing, or through developing techniques for self-improvement. This person may be an inspiring writer, counsellor, healer or teacher. With the Aries emphasis, the focus would be towards empowering and enabling others through their mental and communication gifts.

If the Ascendant is in Aquarius and the ruler, Jupiter, is in the 2nd house, then the soul's purpose of pouring forth the waters of knowledge for humanity, is expressed through a spiritual approach to gathering and distributing resources. There is a facility for manifesting on the physical plane, but the purpose is to gather resources for a higher or collective purpose. For example, this person could accumulate and distribute resources in order to fund some sort of group venture.

The esoteric rulerships do not cancel the value of the traditional rulerships. For the Aries Ascendant, the position of Mars points to personality problems, tendencies, talents and gifts, while the position of Mercury points to the area of service of the soul.

Aspects between the Rulers of the Ascendant
It is important to look at any aspect formed between the exoteric and esoteric rulers of the Ascendant. The ease or stress of this aspect indicates the ease, or lack of ease, with which the soul's purpose can be expressed. Using the example of Aries Rising, a natal square between Mars and Mercury suggests that this person may experience some difficulty in manifesting the soul's purpose. On a practical level, this may be because s/he has a tendency to communicate in a sarcastic way, or is bad-tempered. A trine or sextile between Mars and Mercury suggests that there is a harmony between the personality expression and the expression of the spiritual purpose. S/he may be an inspiring and enthusiastic communicator.

Beginning a Soul-Centred Delineation
In esoteric astrology, the Rising Sign is symbolic of the soul's purpose and the path of the future. Look to the qualities of this sign as an indicator of new qualities that need to be developed in this lifetime. The house position of the esoteric ruler indicates where these 'new' qualities are best expressed. Try to also blend the qualities of the sign and house position of the North Node with these Ascendant qualities. Together, they form a picture of the future path of the soul.

The sign and house position of the Sun is symbolic of the present, or the path towards integration of the personality.

The sign and house position of the Moon is symbolic of the past or karmic conditions which have been carried over into this life and need transcending. Try to blend the qualities of the South Node with these Moon qualities to determine the path of least resistance, the negative personality tendencies which hinder progress in the present, and the gifts developed in past lives.
The signs, houses and aspects of Saturn, Pluto and Chiron, and planets in the twelfth house will also give further clues to karmic factors which are relevant in the current life. Of course, the entire chart can be viewed from a karmic perspective, but we have to stop somewhere.

The Role of the Esoteric Astrologer
The fundamental qualities required by the esoteric astrologer are the intuition of Uranus, the sensitivity and compassion of Neptune and the profound understanding of evolutionary purpose of Pluto.

I do believe there is an urgent need, on the part of astrologers, to move away from the excessive focus on the negative expressions of astrological energy and the over-emphasis on events, effects and manifestations.

The focus of esoteric astrology is on cause and purpose, and the consecration of the self to the greater whole of which we are a part. Certainly, we must not ignore the 'negative' tendencies and manifestations of the personality, for these are guideposts to the past and present suffering of the soul, and point to ways of healing that suffering.

But the focus, in esoteric astrology, must ultimately be on the positive qualities and the highest potential that the client may express. Too often, traditional and even psychological astrology, has focussed far too intently on the greatest depths that the client can reach.

As esoteric astrologers, our role is to act as a trigger or catalyst to help the client contact their own inner sense of purpose. And this purpose can most easily be identified by asking the client what gives them the most joy; what is their passion; what do they love doing the most? Joy is one of the supreme qualities of the soul, and to focus on what gives us joy is to attune to our soul's purpose.

JOY - Like a bird on the wing,
I fly towards the sun.
I sing in my soul,
so that all I meet can hear.

By Felicia Bender

In Numerology, we all have a Maturity Number.

The energy related to this number kicks in when we arrive into our 40s.

Side Note:  I find it somewhat humorous that with Numerology, everything has a precise calculation except for the Maturity Number.  The influence of this number appears to happen incrementally – from the age of 35 – 50.

It’s like driving down that stretch of I-70 and seeing those billboards.  As you travel your life’s path, your Maturity Number provides you with a final destination point.  It is where you’re headed, whether you know it or not.  And if you’ve been driving for hours in hopes of having dinner rolls thrown at you, then all the better.

And usually it comes as a “midlife message,” which can feel like a crisis, changing/transformation point, or a “settling down.”

In many ways, the Maturity Number indicates the nature of your true self – an ultimate goal and encompassing mission.  It also more distinctly guides and informs the second portion of your life – after the early “been there, done that” years.  Most Numerologist’s agree that the impact of this number is in full force by the time you reach the age of 50 and continues to influence you for the rest of your life.

The gift of this additional energy is that “suddenly” you feel that you don’t have the time nor patience to waste on things that aren’t moving you toward this ultimate goal, whatever that may be for you individually.

You calculate the Maturity Number (also called the Reality or Realization Number) by adding your Life Path number and your Destiny/Expression number together.

The Maturity Number points to the “true you.”

It has an underlying influence on our thoughts and actions as we reach into our 40s and beyond.  It indicates your true power and your highest form of evolution.

Maturity Number 1

You’re moving toward reevaluating what it means to be independent and stand on your own two feet.   You’re being called upon to take initiative, to be a leader, and to take creative risks toward achievement in any realm you feel passionate about.

Where you’ll be challenged:  With this Maturity Number, there’s often a shift in life bringing issues related to independence coming to center stage.  Situations will arise highlighting your sense of dependence or independence, your ability to connect and relate with others, and whether or not you behave in a dominating and controlling manner.

What that might look like:
  • A strong need to break free of dependent situations.
  • Evaluation of self-centered behaviors.
  • Financial situation may change dramatically – through divorce, illness, or other transitions.

Maturity Number 2

You’re moving toward reevaluating what it means use your emotional sensitivity to the benefit of both yourself and others.  You’re being called upon to use diplomacy, to involve yourself with group dynamics, and to open yourself to relationships.

Where you’ll be challenged:  With this Maturity Number, there’s often a shift in life bringing issues related to sensitivity to center stage.  Situations will arise highlighting your sense of yourself in relationship to others (meaning that you have a strong sense of yourself without needing outside approval), modulating over-sensitivity, and contributing to healthy relationships.

What that might look like:
  • Need to understand the ways in which you’ve been insensitive to others – evaluation of self-centered behaviors.
  • Desire to contribute to something greater than yourself through group effort.
  • Need to stop being a doormat for others or evaluate the ways in which you’re combative out of a need for self-protection.

Master Maturity Number 11/2

The Master Numbers always indicate a higher sense of spiritual purpose – no matter how you define it.  Plus more intense challenges!  Just so you know, it ain’t easy.

Where you’ll be challenged:  With this Maturity Number, there’s often a shift in life bringing issues related to sensitivity, artistic creativity, and overcoming many obstacles to center stage.  Challenges reside in the intensity in which you experience life, in the ways in which you’ll be put to the test over and over again in the realms of personal challenges, physical sensitivity, and emotional sensitivity.

    3 Maturity (by Decoz)

As you mature, you will find yourself becoming increasingly extroverted and optimistic about your future. Your self-expression and creativity improve markedly. You may become inspired to take up some type of artistic endeavor, such as writing, acting, or music, if you are not already involved in one of these areas.

Your ability to communicate will substantially improve. You are naturally more fluent and may find yourself dressing with a certain flair. Be careful not to fall victim to superficial appearances, or chasing after glamour and extravagance.
With a 3 Maturity Number you can look forward to a pleasant and social latter part of life. Your attitude will be increasingly positive and your popularity will rise.
If you already have several 3s in your chart, especially in your core numbers, you may have a tendency to scatter your energies and take your responsibilities less seriously. If you have few 3s, or are missing 3s entirely, you will experience a great relief from the tension and seriousness of life. You will be more relaxed and capable of enjoying life.

The 3 Maturity Number is a blessing in the latter part of life. It promises enjoyment, close friendships, and much happiness.

What that might look like:
  • Experiencing events that require that you examine the ways in which are overly responsible or irresponsible.
  • Evaluation of self-defeating behaviors based in feelings of restriction and limitation.

  • A dramatic change in career or vocation.
  • Putting aside personal relationships in order to focus on work and career or the realization that you’ve not stepped into your power and aren’t achieving satisfaction because you struggle with money, power, control, and authority.

Maturity Number 9

You’re moving toward reevaluating what it means to work with selfless service to humanity.   You’re being called upon to work with giving and contributing without thought of personal reward, letting go of “self” in order to learn to be of service to others, and to learn not to attach to particular outcomes.

Where you’ll be challenged:  With this Maturity Number, there’s often a shift in life bringing issues related to balance the needs of others with your own needs  to center stage.  Situations will arise highlighting your need to service a higher need or purpose, to delve into a spiritual path in full force, and to use your extraordinary talents to heal, perform, write, teach or be a philanthropist.

If you’re only going to know one number in your entire Numerology Chart, I’d recommend that you know your Life Path Number.

This number is derived from your birth date and indicates your ultimate life’s purpose.  Knowing your Life Path Number gives you solid direction about what you’re meant to be doing in your life.
Yet also understand that what we came here to do will always be the most difficult thing for us to do.  That’s why it takes a lifetime!  Why would you sign up for a degree program where you’d already earned a Doctorate?  You’re here to learn something new and your course requirements are revealed to you through your Life Path number.

Always know that the key themes of your Life Path number indicate exactly where you’ll experience challenges and difficulties throughout your life as you go about learning to acknowledge and master your life’s purpose.
First you need to know your Life Path Number.  See how to calculate yours with the example below.
Calculate your Life Path number:
EXAMPLE:
MAY 6, 1961
  • MAY is the 5th month:  = 5
  • The day of birth is 6:  = 6
  • The year of birth is 1961. Add all four numbers together: 1 + 9 + 6 + 1 = 17; continue adding until you get a one-digit number:
    1 + 7 = 8
We now add the resulting single digits.
Month = 5      Day = 6      Year = 8
5 + 6 + 8 = 19
In Numerology, you always keep adding until you reach a one-digit number.
1 + 9 = 10
1 + 0 = 1
The Life Path Number is 1

1 LIFE PATH: The Leader

Personal Mission: To Develop Creativity and Confidence in Every Aspect of Your Life
A born leader, you’re self-motivated, independent, and a hard worker. You thrive in a competitive environment, although you often get sidetracked by listening to the non-stop voice of criticism in your head, whispering incessantly: “You’re not good enough.” Make sure to practice turning the channel when you start listening to that station! That voice isn’t telling you the truth. It’s a decoy that leads you away from your true power.
In your life, you go through three tiers of development.  First, you realize and question the way in which you feel dependent.  This shows up in various ways and yet is primarily lodged in your feelings of dependency on your family or surroundings to the point where you question yourself in relationship to this form of identity.  The second aspect of development usually shows up as rebellion as you attempt to extract yourself from your feelings of dependence and individuate yourself.  This takes a while. Then, if you’re able to manage this successfully and come out with a healthy sense of independence, then it’s time for you to move forward into achievement.
As an individualist, you’ve most likely felt unique in many ways. You have innovative and advanced creative ideas.  Yet when you’re feeling insecure, you feel you just don’t fit inor belong anywhere, as though you’re really out of sync with the demands and expectations of the world. When you’re being your authentic self, you’re the kindest, most trustworthy, compassionate, and compelling individual.
When you aren’t feeling confident, you tend to be pushy, defensive, aggressive, and angry. Those emotions are your chosen outlets when you’re having self-doubts. It’s crucial for you to work on honing your skill at anything you do, whether that means your job skills, communication skills, or relationship skills. Reaching a level of expertise instills you with a reliable sense of self-confidence.  As a 1 Life Path, having complete trust in the skills you’ve learned and mastered will serve as a kind of “security blanket” for you when you’re feeling insecure or your sense of confidence is under fire. Having the ability to fall back on high-level skills you know inside out will stabilize you and get you back in your game.
You’re a pioneer, an innovator, and capable of great success and achievement in the world. You need to be in charge and managing in some way. You would make a great entrepreneur or inventor. Often the highest and best use of your abilities is when you mastermind a project, get it up and running, make sure management systems are in place, and then you’re off to the next venture. You might feel stagnant if you don’t allow yourself to tackle new challenges.
You’re full of creative energy, so embrace your creativity and understand that this is your gift. Imagine new things, introduce new concepts, and then delegate the details and either move on with another project or continue developing your project while taking it to the next level of success. However you define it, you enjoy being on the move and having a variety of things to do. Anything that calls for tapping into your unique voice, independent action, and decision-making is your forte. When choosing a career, you must ask: “What is it I’ve always wanted to be or do?” and then just do it, like the Nike slogan commands. Really, nothing can stand in your way.
Whether or not you know it, you have an amazing capacity to do whatever you focus on after you clear away the clutter of self-doubt. When you’re secure in your abilities and have confidence, you’re fabulously dynamic.
You also—whether or not you know it yet—have healing hands. You’re a natural healer and can use this ability in every aspect of your life. You don’t have to become a massage therapist or an energy worker unless you want to. That’s not what I’m saying. Healing energy surrounds all aspects of what you do and guides your action when you’re functioning optimally.
As you develop your leadership skills, nurture the best in others and understand that creativity flourishes in an atmosphere of inner security and confidence; meaning you must open up, take risks, and step off the beaten path. Your constant challenge is to consistently and consciously develop your sense of being self assured, self-directed, and centered. When you express your passion from the heart, you can achieve great things in the world. Be careful of succumbing to feelings of superiority, judgment, and criticism. You’re most effective when you work directly with people and key into their innate gifts and strengths.
Beware:  Since you’re all about #1, you can tend to see only your own wants and needs and have trouble listening to anyone else’s point of view.  When this happens, “1″ can truly be the loneliest number. You’re more powerful when you take the lead, yet know that you aren’t an island.  If you’re successful, it’s because of the participation of others in manifesting your vision.  Make sure you share your gratitude.
Common threads when a 1 Life Path is “on fire” from working with optimal energies are boldness, innovation, risk taking, resilience, and following the inner voice.
Your life purpose is to bring positive creative energy into the world.

1 LIFE PATH: Potential Challenges

Your potential challenges are:
  • To come to terms with insecurity and the tendencies to block, withhold, or discharge energy through addictive behaviors.
  • To acknowledge that when you lack self-confidence you’re lured into inaction and stagnation.
  • To realize that if you’re not using your creativity you’re prone to feel lethargic, frustrated, or held back.
  • To understand that you may appear to have a chip on your shoulder, as if you have something to prove to yourself and to others.
  • To understand that when you feel under fire, you default into negativity, judgment, cynicism, and anger and aggressively express those feelings to others.
  • To know that you excel in creative problem-solving, yet often lack the confidence to express and capitalize on your innate skills.
  • To know you tend to experience crippling self-doubt when dealing with something new.
  • To appreciate that action and ambition are key components of who you are and aren’t to be avoided.
  • To work constructively with the fact that you don’t like to be told what to do.
  • To make sure to choose partners who are your equals both in intimate and in business relationships. You won’t have satisfying partnerships if you choose to partner with people who are weaker or more submissive than you.
  • To comprehend that when you’re working with destructive tendencies you lean toward self-absorption, self-interest, cynicism, and selfish focus.

1 LIFE PATH: Strengths to Develop

  • The “confident you” has unique perceptions, style, and magnetism that attracts others. Always trust and follow through on your unique visions. You aren’t meant to follow the crowd.
  • You’re dynamic when you’re working with confidence.
  • Remember you’re a trailblazer. Since you’re on the front lines, you’ll experience a lot of “failures” and stumbling blocks. So what? Those experiences can fuel you to develop new ideas and follow through on your revolutionary projects.
  • You’re resilient. You’re knocked down over and over again in your life. Know that you’re going to get more than your share of this! You’re not going to think it’s fair. The key is to learn from your failures rather than be devastated by them.
  • You’re a whiz at accomplishing a multitude of tasks. When you set your mind to accomplishing something and go about it with direction, confidence, and empathy toward others, you’re working optimally.
  • You’re a creative problem-solver. Give yourself lots of pats on the back for a job well done and for bouncing back from adversity. Work on letting yourself hear positive affirmations in your head rather than self-deprecating and self-defeating “tapes.”
  • Creativity in all forms is at the core of your being. Enjoy and embrace every opportunity to use your creativity and pursue your innovative and original thinking.

Destiny or Expression Number

By Felicia Bender

If there are some things that don’t quite compute for you as you get to know your Life Path number, then add this information about your Expression or Destiny Number to help round out your specific life purpose.  Some Numerologist’s call this number the Expression Number and some call it the Destiny Number.

Your Expression/Destiny Number is a vital component or compliment to your Life Path number. I like to say that your Life Path number represents a one-dimensional look at who you are – it indicates your primary purpose in life.  Yet when you add it with the Expression/Destiny number, the Expression/Destiny number indicates to you the manner in which you’ll go about achieving your purpose, as indicated by your Life Path number.
It’s like taking your Life Path number and pouring it into a martini shaker and then adding the Destiny number to the mix, shaking (or stirring!) and then the result is a more complex, holographic version of who you are and how you’re supposed to go about doing what you’re doing.
So, as an example:  Say you’re a One Life Path, you know at the get-go that you’re all about leadership, acting on original ideas, confidence, creativity, initiation, action, competition.  So then, when you place your Destiny number on top of your Life Path number, you get the flavor and manner in which you go about achieving your One Life Path purpose.
Your Destiny number is basically setting the bar for what you’re to live up to.  It’s like the expectation your teacher or parent (or you yourself!) has for your long-term goals.  The Expression/Destiny number offers you the key to how you will express your Life Path purpose.
So let’s continue with the example of the One Life Path. If you have a Two Destiny number, chances are you feel a certain amount of conflict in your life given that the One is all about Number One (you!), independence, individuality, achievement,  leadership – where the pull of the number Two is much softer and all about love, balance, harmony, and serving group dynamics.  So no wonder you might feel conflicted given your disparate goals and purpose.  This isn’t an impossible combination by any means!  In fact, every combination has its shining potentials.  The trick is to understand the basic pull of each so that you can work toward maximizing the strengths of each, diminishing the weaknesses,  and allowing it all to work in tandem.
Say you have an Eight Destiny number.  Mixed with your One Life Path, you’re much more likely to err on the side of “Hard Luck Charlie” given that both numbers have a certain amount of hard knocks built into the purpose of both the One and the Eight.
It would also explain your hard-driving nature, your devotion perhaps to business, to making money, and to achievement in the material world (or avoidance of the same!).  Both the One and the Eight are aligned with achievement on the financial realm.  That also might give you an indication of why find yourself struggling.  Perhaps you’ve swung over to the other side of the spectrum and have problems with addictions and financial loss that have overtaken your life – just as one example.
Sometimes a person will “present” more in alignment with their Destiny Number (how they go about doing their life’s purpose) than with the Life Path number itself.  Know that the Life Path number indicates what you’ve come here to learn more about.  Therefore, often the Life Path number can take time and maturity to develop, understand, and master.
Either way, knowing both your Life Path and your Destiny numbers can allow you to put some of the puzzle pieces together in a way you might not have been able to before.

What Your Destiny Number Reveals About Your Life Purpose

  • The flavor and manner of living that you must cultivate and act upon in your life;
  • Your opportunities for success and your stumbling blocks to achieving your full potential;
  • At the “end of the day,” this is how you’re destined to achieve and express your life purpose;
  • Offers you an idea of how you can make the most out of your life experience;
  • The kind of work that would be a natural compliment and expression of your life purpose as defined by your Life Path.

Calculate Your Destiny Number

Write down the name you were given at birth, just as it is written on your birth certificate.

Use the chart and apply a number to each letter of your name;  first, middle, last.  If you have more than one middle name, please use all of the names as they appear on your birth certificate.  If you’re a Jr., Second or Third, please leave that out of the equation.
Let’s use George (Timothy) Clooney as an example.  You calculate this much in the same way you calculate your Life Path number.  It’s a simple addition problem once you assign a number value to the letter in the name (as indicated by the chart below).  Like always, you must digit down to a one-digit number for each part of the calculation:

Destiny Number Definitions

Destiny Number One

Your destiny is to become #1 at all you do in your life.
Your task is to develop your true, authentic self and to become in leader in whatever field you find you’re the most passionate and skilled.  You’re all about power.  You want to be the best at everything you do. You expect very high standards of performance from yourself and, in turn, also expect the same from others, which can set you up for frustration and disappointment.
Your purpose is to take the lead and take initiative—the One Destiny number is not lack-luster or low-key! You’re meant to have courage, act independently on your unique and original ideas, be innovative, and take charge.  All this while communicating and acting with clarity and compassion.
A One Destiny number sets you up for a lifetime of development of your sense of self (banish that sense of self-doubt), your willpower, and setting out with determination without allowing the naysayers or glitches along the road weigh you down or demolish your vision. You work hard and play hard.  You need to have an exercise routine that helps you burn off excess stress.
Your One Destiny number insists that even if you struggle with self confidence or hold yourself back from manifesting your full powers, you’re lined up for a destiny that demands that you embrace leadership.  You need to demonstrate your originality and leadership and also teach it to others.  The One Destiny number will demand that you develop yourself from a dependence to independence, individuation, and – ultimately – achievement and initiative.

Destiny Number Two

Your destiny is to bring people together in an atmosphere of harmony and love.
Your mission is to create harmony, balance, cooperation, and love wherever you go and in whatever you do.  Love is the cornerstone to your life and finding that perfect mate is important to you. You’re here to learn how to develop your sense of relationship;  how to successfully understand and relate to others and to yourself.
Your path includes developing diplomacy.  Your Two Destiny encourages you to seek to be of service to the “larger cause;” whether that’s your family, your company, or any other cause or group you feel strongly about.  Your destiny is to develop adaptability, open- hearted caring, and focus on the higher good.  Understand that you need to get out and socialize, because when you isolate yourself, you suffer from pessimism, depression, and inaction.
You thrive when you’re involved with other people and contributing to the group dynamics, whether it’s with friends, work, family, or a community group. You’ll be tested with being overly sensitive and can resort to becoming confrontational rather than the harmonizer.  Beware of needing incessant reinforcement from everyone around you, because you’re not likely to get it!  Even if you find that you’re challenged with being passive or aggressive—indecisive or lacking focus—your calling is to become a peacemaker and harmonizing influence on whatever you touch.

Destiny Number Three

Your destiny is to inspire, motivate, heal, and uplift people.
If you find you have a Destiny Number Three, you’re being called to inspire, heal, uplift, and energize others.  You’re all about performance, however that manifests for you in your life.  Your ultimate purpose comes through when you’re operating with a core sense of optimism, enthusiasm, compassion, and joy.
Some of the qualities you bring to the table are beauty, possible eccentricity, excitement, and fame.  When you’ve tapped into your authentic sense of expression and then inspire others to use and express theirs, you’re fulfilling your life’s purpose.  If you give up on your dreams and don’t use your talents creatively, you’ll battle with depression and find yourself traveling down other unsatisfying or destructive pathways.  You must pursue your true calling, so make efforts to focus on what that is for you, believe in it and don’t be deterred from embracing it.
Often the Three brings so many talents and ideas with it, it’s difficult to focus on just one, making procrastination or scattered focus a hurdle.  You’ll be challenged with learning to identify and embrace your own emotional life and often will be most effective in helping yourself help others through your gift of words (both verbal and written), through your amazing sense of wit and humor, and by being lighthearted and a good communicator and listener.
You might find challenges in the areas of emotional ups and downs, depression, or being judgmental and critical. You’ll also have a tendency to over-think just about everything, so schedule in brain-relaxation or you’ll go nuts.  If you find that being onstage doesn’t feel natural to you, chances are this is the result of residual wounds from your childhood.  Don’t resist your feelings; they offer you profound wisdom. Your Three Destiny number calls you to express yourself and help others do the same in the most positive, funny, joyful way possible.

Destiny Number Four

Your destiny is to leave something of value that people can find beneficial in their day-to-day lives.
You’re intent on building something of lasting value; whether that’s a family of your own, a business, or other enterprise.  You’re all about stability and security.  You’re hardworking, can be a pillar of your community, and are immanently trustworthy. In fact, honesty is a big issue for you.
You have the potential to be a stellar marriage or business partner. Your life purpose revolves around being practical and hardworking.  You’re the systems-builder.  You’re the keeper of order and thrive on stability and security.  You might lean toward rigidness or stubbornness.
You could avoid putting down roots, shy away from hard work, and avoid having a family of your own.  Sometimes you can become so self-sacrificing that you become the martyr or a tyrant.  This stems from your need to control and also from your high level of expectation about your own performance—and the performance of others.  Your intentions are always for the greater good, yet that’s not often clear to anyone but you.
The biggest roadblock for the Four Destiny number is a fear of appearing dumb (or let’s say “under informed”) and a fear of taking risks.  A person with a Four Destiny number can wake up one day when they’re older and realize that none of their dreams have been realized because of their inability to step outside their own self-imposed box.
Even so, your Four Destiny number puts you on the path of managing, organizing, and creating a foundation from which to build your life or enterprise.  Don’t let fear of criticism stop you from creating the foundation from which you build your contribution to the world.

Destiny Number Five

Your destiny is to effect change and show people how to live life to the maximum.
The freewheeling Five Destiny number pushes you toward a mission of adaptability, progress, freedom, and embracing the adventure of life.  Freedom is the guiding force in your life.  You thrive on hands-on experience.  You’re task is to develop your constructive use of freedom.
Your purpose is to embrace your sense of fearlessness and follow your curiosity to explore the world and offer your magnetic presence and gifts to those around you. Most often the Five Destiny number is intelligent, philosophical, and spiritually minded.
You’re a natural salesperson when you’re dealing with something you believe in.  This Destiny number leads you on a roller coaster, where life can feel as though it’s coming at you without a filter.  Your destiny is one of liberation and freedom, no matter how you slice it.
If you find yourself on the opposite end of the spectrum, you’ll do battle with self-absorption, paranoia, myopia, fearfulness, and emotional paralysis.  Remember there’s truly nothing to fear but fear itself (thank you Franklin D. Roosevelt).
You can move through intimate relationships like you’re changing your socks.  Your effect on other people can be baffling to you, as others might feel tricked or “played” by you, even when you’re simply moving to the beat of your own music.  Your heightened self-centered emotionalism might also try your friendships and intimate relationships. You can swerve over into the “high maintenance” category with great ease, making your love relationships, family interaction, and friendships potentially exasperating to those on the other end of your relationship-pole.
Move forward, recalibrate yourself, and embrace positive change.  Ultimately, your gift is showing others how to live fearlessly through your example.  The key to your Five Destiny is to work with boundaries and certain parameters or life could be chaotic and out of control.

Destiny Number Six

Your destiny is to provide a nurturing safe ‘nest’ for yourself and your loved ones.
Your mission is to nurture and serve, plain and simple.  Whether it’s your family and loved ones or your business or community, you are a master at creating beauty, harmony, and balance.  Love (shaken and stirred!) with acceptance is key for you as a Six Destiny number.
You have a polished presentation about you and denote an air of authority in whatever you do.  One of your specialties is damage control, so when things are moving along without trauma or drama, you have a tendency to either sweat it (while you wait for the other shoe to drop, so to speak) or you stir things up in order to have a problem to focus your energies on. Give yourself permission to accept things when life is good and smooth!  They’ll always be another problem to solve down the line.  No need to push it.
You may find yourself in positions of responsibility early on in your life and that sense of responsibility will continue as you mature. You’re a people pleaser, sometimes to your detriment. You need to feel indispensable to others and yet resent the fact that others rely on you too much.  Beware of partnering with someone who is more of a “patient” than a partner because you’ll find yourself becoming an enabler rather than a nurturer.  Remember that your mission is to balance and modulate your sense of responsibility – not overly responsible (meddling, self-righteous, perfectionist) and not overly irresponsible (self-centered, judgmental, controlling).
You’re in your element when you’re expressing gratitude, generosity, acceptance of others, and giving comfort to others in times of need.  You express your life’s purpose through love and service.  While you may tend toward self-righteousness, codependency, or fall into being a martyr, your true calling is in healthy nurturing, compassionate detachment, acceptance of others (get past that perfectionism!), and adding beauty and your beautiful vision to the world.

Destiny Number Seven

Your destiny is to develop trust and faith and find your own answer to the meaning of life.
As a Seven Destiny number, your mission is to seek out information and analyze it.  You’re all about knowledge and spiritual seeking. You dig deep and contemplate heavily.  You’re the perfect researcher and everything always comes back to informing your own sense of inner wisdom.  Your life-long task is to get to know the true you, inside and out.
You need a good deal of private “alone” time.  Your life is instructed by a powerful collision between practical, tangible data and the analysis of it.  Then on the other hand, you’re highly intuitive and your gift—and your task—is to integrate the two (your intellect and your intuition) into a harmonious dance team.
If you find yourself isolated to the point of withdrawing from the “outside world,” you’re straying from the constructive nature of your Seven Destiny.  The highest and best use of your extraordinary talents are cultivating knowledge, processing it into new ideas or practical usage, and applying your advanced wisdom to the data.
You’re a person people never really truly know because you’re most often attempting to figure that out yourself!  Watch out for your sharp words, as you can hurt people without realizing it. You have exquisite observation skills and when you have a strong sense of spirituality (however that manifests for you), you’re at your best.  Otherwise, you can fall into superficiality, skepticism, cynicism or depression.  You’re a gentle soul and your destiny is to share your hard-won wisdom with the world.

Destiny Number Eight

Your destiny is to manifest financial security that allows you freedom to make a difference in the world.
An Eight Destiny number is calling for you to gain self-mastery in a profound way.  Your purpose is to achieve and succeed with business and organization—not to mention personal power, control, authority, and above all, ethics.  The Eight is a relentless taskmaster and demands that you understand and employ all your abilities to achieve financial abundance and also to give to others generously.  When you realize that you’re here to achieve power and abundance and then act on that knowledge, your destiny will be fulfilled. Right out of the gate, you have authority issues.
Do you walk into a room as if you own the place (even when you don’t)?  Watch out for becoming an opinionated control-freak. Steer clear of greed, ruthlessness, or being overly opinionated and over-bearing.  Instead, focus on wealth and abundance.  Remember that as you give, you receive. Oddly enough, you can be extremely sentimental and emotional.  It’s your task to learn to be a confident and charismatic person without becoming corrupted or hardened by power and money.
Remember that you have amazing potential for improving the lives of a lot of people.  You’re a masterful leader;  a powerhouse made for material success.  You can be easily misinterpreted because of your gruff, direct, and opinionated manner.  When you’re thriving financially and giving generously from your heart, you’re doing what you were born to do.  Your word of caution:  don’t allow the pursuit of money to overshadow your ability to build healthy relationships and don’t be so stubborn!  Listen to other peoples’ advice;  they can help you build your empire.
Your flip-side is that you find yourself in the opposite situation.  The first item of business that’ll open the gate for you to achieve your Eight Destiny is to dig deep and tap into your sense of personal empowerment.  And believe me, you’ll be handed a treasure-trove of opportunities to step up or be stepped on
Money and power are a consistent theme in your life one way or the other.  I know people who scoff when they hear they their Destiny number  (or Life Path number) is an Eight (or their significant others’ is an Eight) and comment with great exasperation:  “I can’t even hold down a job!” or “If only it were true that I’m supposed to make a lot of money – I’m on disability”  or “I’ve just never had the lucky break I need – I never get a break.”
If you struggle with money, start with healing and establishing your sense of yourself by establishing and acting on your personal boundaries.  The energy of the Eight isn’t an easy walk in the park.  It demands that you dig into your power and move through obstacles – and there will be many obstacles.  An Eight Destiny number means you have to step it up.

Destiny Number Nine

Your destiny is to achieve a higher state of consciousness and teach others how to achieve theirs.
Your mission is a humanitarian one.  Yours is a spiritual path and you’re here to love unconditionally, however that may manifest in your life. You’re often a hopeless romantic at heart and can set yourself up for disappointment when people don’t measure up to your ideals.   You’re at your optimal when you’re tapping into your creativity, sensitivity, and selflessness.
Beware that others may find that you’re ideas are a little on the cuckoo-side! This Destiny number is a powerful one demanding that you learn to transform and heal (both yourself and others) while letting go of the past freely and without bitterness.
You may find yourself tripping over into the arena of resentment, of intolerance, or gullibility.  You may have to deal with enmeshment with your family of origin throughout your life. Your task is to let go of family issues fully and completely.  You often feel either resentment toward the family or feel overly responsible for them.
You need to be aware that people respond much more favorably to you when you connect with them through being a compassionate active listener rather than a preacher, lecturer, or proselytizer. Understand that you can have an intimidating quality to you, despite your big heart.  So be careful about how your frame your discussion so that people don’t feel as though you’re patronizing them.
Often the Nine Destiny number can come off as arrogant or unapproachable.  Realize that everyone thinks you have it all (or have it all together) and so you find it difficult to ask for help or support.  It’s not only okay to ask for help, it’s very healing for you.  Know that your Nine Destiny is a profound journey that offers you multifaceted opportunities to touch the lives of others and heal some of your own deepest wounds.  You’re learning how to both give and receive.

Master Destiny Number Eleven/Two

Your destiny is to heal and transform others through selfless service and artistic creativity.
Your special mission is to recognize and use your creativity, intuition, and healing abilities for the benefit of humanity as a whole.  You can achieve this in a multitude of ways—eliciting an emotional response through dance, music, or art.  Working one-on-one or in groups with various healing modalities.  Or you can write, entertain, teach.
Remember, you are a double One (leadership, confidence) and yet also a Two (harmony, love).  So you come with some special challenges to fulfill your mission.  A Two Life Path will go out of their way to avoid being in the spotlight.  A Two is most at peace and satisfied when they’re taking the reins behind the scenes.  The Eleven pushes you into the spotlight and this will have some disconcerting effects on you.  You’ll feel as though nothing you do is ever quite enough.  You’ll have a nervous energy that you just can’t control.  You’ll lean toward impatience and criticism (toward yourself and others) and arm-wrestle with self-doubt.
If you’re to embrace this Destiny number, you’ll do battle with a fairly hefty ego, which is ironic because you volley from feeling totally inferior to loftily superior; back and forth.  This number sets you up for inspired leadership and achievement.  Yet you’ll most likely feel as though you’re jumping through rings of fire to get there.
You might even think of yourself as “The Wounded Healer,” because your life provides you with plenty of obstacles to get your footing, embrace your high level of spirituality and intuition, and then act upon your gifts in a solid and practical way that will bring your message to the masses.  This Destiny number requires that you build and use your emotional psychic shield daily or you’ll become so emotionally wounded you won’t have the strength or fortitude to fulfill your mission.

Master Destiny Number  Twenty-Two/Four

Your destiny is to bring forth masterful teaching and inspired practical ideas.

Your mission as a Master number is to execute and build projects that will benefit a wide arena of humankind.  This is a spiritual path (like all the Master numbers) that prods you to step out of the slow, steady security of the number Four and kick it up substantially.  This will be uncomfortable for you until you get the hang of it, because it’s contrary to the pull you have with the rule-following energy of the Four.
You’ll use all the hardworking, step-by-step qualities of the Four while tapping into a higher level of purpose and action.  You’ll learn to take risks and look toward setting higher stakes with your enterprises.  You’re the Master Builder extraordinaire, so look toward building solid foundations to your enterprise with the big picture in front of you at all times.
You might be challenged with not feeling up to the task or even entitled to do something that might take you into fame and fortune.  You might even cringe at the idea of making a lot of money given the energy of the Four is more about feeling a sense of security, not necessarily manifesting abundance.  It sounds like a small detail, yet mentally this can drag you down.
You’re being pushed toward bringing spiritual practices down to the material, day-to-day world.  Avoid your stubborn streak and a tendency to be a know-it-all.  Gather your supporters around you, set up the systems to make it work, and hand over some of the responsibilities to others.  If you find yourself doing it all yourself, you aren’t living up to your Twenty-Two Destiny.

Master Destiny Number Thirty-Three

Your destiny is masterful healing and inspired vision.
This is a challenge from the get-go.  If you find yourself with a Thirty-Three Destiny number, your mission (should you choose to accept it! . . . cue Mission Impossible music . . . ) is to be a Master Healer and to bring forth a higher form of love to the world.  Since you have the double Three’s, you also have to do this with joy, fun, and heart-felt communication and expression.
It’s your calling to teach and show by example the power of love.  You’re meant to serve as a conduit to healing on whatever level you feel most compelled to engage.  The Master number presupposes that you’ll take on leadership positions and the Thirty-Three/Six encompasses visionary goals, truth and beauty, and a nurturing and giving heart.
You might wrestle with feeling over-burdened.  Your tendency will be to be emotionally raw, taking in the wounds of the world.  Even so, you’re still on the path of helping and healing in whatever form you choose.

Expression Numbers

Number 1
A number 1 Expression denotes the skilled executive with keen administrative capabilities. You must develop the capacity to be a fine leader, sales executive, or promoter. You have the tools to become an original person with a creative approach to problem solving, and a penchant for initiating action. Someone may have to follow behind you to handle the details, but you know how to get things going and make things happen. You have a good mind and the ability to use it for your advancement. Because of these factors, you have much potential for achievement and financial rewards. Frequently, this expression belongs to one running a business or striving to achieve a level of accomplishment on ones talents and efforts. You have little need for much supervision, preferring to act on your own with little restraint. You are both ambitious and determined. Self-confident and self-reliant must be yours, as you develop a strong unyielding will and the courage of your convictions.
Although you fear loneliness, you want to be left alone. You fear routine and being in a rut. You often jump the gun because you are afraid of being left behind.
The negative attributes of the 1 Expression are egotism and a self-centered approach to life. This is an aggressive number and if it is over-emphasized it is very hard to live with. You do not have to be overly aggressive to fulfill your destiny. The 1 has a natural instinct to dominate and to be the boss; adhering to the concept of being number One.  Again, you do not have to dominate and destroy in order to lead and manage.

Number 2
A number 2 Expression gives you the tools to work very well with other people. Your destiny is in the role of the mediator and the peacemaker. In many ways you are dependent on others and seem to function best in a partnership or in some form of group activity. Modesty runs deep in your nature, and you can work comfortably without recognition of your accomplishments. Often, others get credit for your ideas, and this is of little real concern to your since you are such a willing team player. As you grow in this direction, you become sensitive to the feelings of others, you are ever diplomatic in handling complicated situations. Cooperative, courteous, and considerate, you have the capacity to become an outstanding facilitator.  You know how to organize and handle people. You are a good detail person because you rarely overlook anything. Tactful and friendly, nearly everyone likes you.
The negative 2 personality can be over-sensitive and easily hurt. Too much of this number in your makeup can make you very shy and uncertain. Sometimes the excessive 2 energies makes one apathetic and somewhat indifferent to the job at hand; the ability to handle details is hampered in these cases.

Number 3
An Expression of 3 produces a quest for destiny with words along a variety of lines that may include writing, speaking, singing, acting or teaching; our entertainers, writers, litigators, teachers, salesmen, and composers. You also have the destiny to sell yourself or sell just about any product that comes along. You are imaginative in your presentation, and you may have creative talents in the arts, although these are more likely to be latent. You are an optimistic person that seems ever enthusiastic about life and living. You are friendly, loving and social, and people like you because you are charming and such a good conversationalist. Your ability to communicate may often inspire others.  It is your role in life to inspire and motivate; to raise the spirits of those around you.
The negative side of number 3 Expression is superficiality. You may tend to scatter your forces and simply be too easygoing. It is advisable for the negative 3 to avoid dwelling on trivial matters, especially gossip.

Number 4
Order, service, and management are the cornerstones of the number 4 Expression. Your destiny is to express wonderful organization skills with your ever practical, down-to-earth approach. You are the kind of person who is always willing to work those long, hard hours to push a project through to completion. A patience with detail allows you to become expert in fields such as building, engineering, and all forms of craftsmanship. Your abilities to write and teach may lean toward the more technical and detailed. In the arts, music will likely be your choice. Artistic talents may also appear in such fields as horiculture and floral arrangement, as well. Many skilled physicians and especially surgeons have the 4 Expression.
The positive attitudes of the 4 Expression yield responsibility; you are one who no doubt, fulfills obligations, and is highly systematic and orderly. You are serious and sincere, honest and faithful. It is your role to help and you are required to do a good job at everything you undertake.
If there is too much 4 energies present in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes of the number 4. The obligations that you face may tend to create frustration and feelings of limitation or restriction. You may sometimes find yourself nursing negative attitudes in this regard and these can keep you in a rather low mood. Avoid becoming too rigid, stubborn, dogmatic, and fixed in your opinions. You may have a tendency to develop and hold very strong likes and dislikes, and some of these may border on the classification of prejudice. The negative side of 4 often produces dominant and bossy individuals who use disciplinarian to an excess. These tendencies must be avoided. Finally, like nearly all with 4 Expression, you must keep your eye on the big picture and not get overly wrapped up in detail and routine.

Number 5
The number 5 Expression endows with the wonderful characteristic of multi-talents and versatility. You can do so many things well. The tone of the number 5 is constructive freedom, and in your drive to attain this freedom, you will likely be the master of adaptability and change. You are good at presenting ideas and knowing how to approach people to get what you want. Naturally, this gives you an edge in any sort of selling game and spells easy success when it comes to working with people in most jobs. Your popularity may lead you toward some form of entertainment or amusement. Whatever you do, you are clever, analytical, and a very quick thinker.
If there is too much of the 5 energy in your makeup, you may express some the negative attitudes of the number. Your restless and impatient attitude may keep you from staying with any project for too long. Sometimes you can be rather erratic and scatter yourself and your energies. You have a hard time keeping regular office hours and maintaining any sort of a routine. You tend to react strongly if you sense that your freedom of speech or action is being impaired or restricted in any way. As clever as you are, you may have a tendency to make the same mistakes over and over again because much of your response is glib reaction rather that thoughtful application. You are in a continuous state of flux brought by constantly changing interests.

Number 6
The number 6 Expression provides you a truly outstanding sense of responsibility, love, and balance. The 6 is helpful and ever conscientious, making you quite capable of rectifying and balancing any sort of inharmonious situation. You are a person very much inclined to give help and comfort to those in need. You have a natural penchant for working with the old, the young, the sick, or the underprivileged. Although you may have considerable creative and artistic talents, the chances are that you will devote yourself to an occupation that shows concern for the betterment of the community.
The positive side of the number 6 suggests that you are very loving, friendly, and appreciative of others. You have a depth of understanding that produces much sympathetic, kindness, and generosity. The qualities of the 6 make the finest and most concerned parent and one often deeply involved in domestic activities. Openness and honesty is apparent in your approach to all relationships.
If there is an excess of the number 6 in your makeup, you may exhibit some of the negative traits associated with this number. There may be a tendency for you to be too exacting and demanding of yourself. In this regard, you may at times sacrifice yourself (or your loved ones) for the welfare of others. In some cases, the over zealous 6 has difficulty distinguishing helping from interfering. You may have difficulty expressing your own individuality, because of involvement with responsibilities and causes. Like all with the Expression of the number 6, it's quite likely that you worry much too much.

Number 7
Thought, analysis, introspection, and seclusiveness are all characteristics of the expression number 7. The hallmark of the number 7 is a good mind, and especially good at searching out and finding the truth. You are so very capable of analyzing, judging and discriminating, that very little ever escapes your observation and deep understanding. You are the type of person that can really get involved in a search for wisdom or hidden truths, often becoming an authority on whatever it is your are focusing on. This can easily be of a technical or scientific nature, or it may be religious or occult, it matters very little, you pursue knowledge with the same sort of vigor. You can make a very fine teacher, or because of a natural inclination toward the spiritual, you may become deeply emerged in religious affairs or even psychic explorations. You tend to operate on a rather different wavelength, and many of your friends may not really know you very well.
The positive aspects of the 7 expression are that you can be a true perfectionist in a very positive sense of the word. You are very logical, and usually employ a quite rational approach to most things you do. You can be so rational at times that you almost seem to lack emotion, and when you are faced with an emotional situation, you may have a bit of a problem coping with it. You have excellent capabilities to study and learn really deep and difficult subjects, and to search for hidden fundamentals. At full maturity you are likely to be a very peaceful and poised individual.
If there is an over supply of the number 7 in your makeup, the negative aspects of the number may be apparent. The chief negative of 7 relates to the limited degree of trust that you may have in people. A tendency to be highly introverted can make you a bit on the self-centered side, certainly very much self-contained . Because of this, you are not very adaptable, and you may tend to be overly critical and intolerant. You really like to work alone, at your own pace and in your own way. You neither show or understand emotions very well.

Number 8
Your Expression is represented by the number 8. The 8 Expression is well-equipped in a managerial sense. You have outstanding organizational and administrative capabilities. You have the potential for considerable achievement in business or other powerful positions. You can expect to receive the financial and material rewards. You have the skill and abilities to establish or operate a business with great efficiency. You have good judgment when it comes to money and commercial matters, and you understand how to build and accumulate material wealth. Much of your success (or lack of it) may come due to your ability (or inability) to judge character. With the number 8 Expression, you exercise sound judgment in most of your affairs; you are realistic and practical in your approach to business matters.
The positive 8 Expression produces individuals that are very ambitious and goal-oriented. If the 8 energy is not in excess in your makeup, you will no doubt express these traits to some extent. No one has any more energy that a person with the 8 Expression who has a plan laid and is starting to work. No one has any more self-confidence, either. If you are expressing the positive qualities of 8, you are an outstanding manager because you can plan, initiate, and complete projects; you are very dependable and determined.
As it always happens, there can be too much of a good thing. If you have too much of the 8 energy in your makeup, you may express some of the negative attitudes. A negative 8 can be very rigid and stubborn. Ambition sometimes has a way of becoming over-ambition, and you may express an unreasonable impatience with the lack of progress. If your negative side is showing, you may be too exacting, both of yourself and of others. Sometimes this can even becomes a case of intolerance.
The number 8 is very materialistic and also very desirous of status and power. Neither of these drives are inherently negative unless they are taken to an extreme. You must avoid the tendency to strain after money, material matters, status, or power, to the detriment of the other important factors in your life.

Number 9
The expression that you exhibit is represented bythe number 9. Your talents center in humanistic interests and approaches. You like to help others as you were intended to be the "big brother or big sister" type. You operate best when you follow your feelings and sense of compassion, and allow yourself to be sensitive to the needs of others. You work well with people, and have the potential to inspire. This suggests that you could successfully teach or counsel. Creative ability, imagination and artistic talent (often latent) of the highest order are present in this expression. It's possible that you're not using or developing all of these capabilities at this time. Some of your talents may have been used at an earlier time in your life, and some may still be latent. Be aware of your capabilities, so that you can make use of them at appropriate times.
If you are able to achieve the potential of your natural expression in this life, you are capable of much human understanding and have a lot to give to others. Your personal ambitions are likely to be maintained in a very positive perspective, never losing sight of an interest in people, and a sympathetic, tolerant, broad-minded and compassionate point of view. You are quite idealistic, and disappointed at the lack of perfection in the world. You have a strong awareness of your own feeling as well as those of others. Friendships, affection, and love are extremely important.
Undeveloped or ignored, the negative side of the 9 expression can be very selfish and self-centered. If you do not actively involve yourself with work that benefits others, you may tend to express just the opposite characteristics. It is your role to be very involved with other people and their needs, but it may be difficult for you achieve this role. Aloofness, lack of involvement, and a lack of sensitivity mark the low road of this expression.

Number 11
Your Expression number is 11. The number 11 is the first of the master numbers. It is associated with idealistic concepts and rather spiritual issues. Accordingly, it is a number with potentials that are somewhat more difficult to live up to. You have the capacity to be inspirational, and the ability to lead merely by your own example. An inborn inner strength and awareness can make you an excellent teacher, social worker, philosopher, or advisor. No matter what area of work you pursue, you are very aware and sensitive to the highest sense of your environment. Your intuition is very strong; in fact, many psychic people and those involved in occult studies have the number 11 expression. You possess a good mind with keen analytical ability. Because of this you can probably succeed in most lines of work, however, you will do better and be happier outside of the business world. Oddly enough, even here you generally succeed, owing to your often original and unusual approach. Nonetheless, you are more content working with your ideals, rather than dollars and cents.
The positive aspect of the number 11 expression is an always idealistic attitude. Your thinking is long term, and you are able to grasp the far-reaching effects of actions and plans. You are disappointed by the shortsighted views of many of your contemporaries. You are deeply concerned and supportive of art, music, or of beauty in any form.
The negative attitudes associated with the number 11 expression include a continuous sense of nervous tension; you may be too sensitive and temperamental. You tend to dream a lot and may be more of a dreamer than a doer. Fantasy and reality sometimes become intermingled and you are sometimes very impractical. You tend to want to spread the illumination of your knowledge to others irrespective of their desire or need.

Number 22
Your Expression is represented by the master number, 22. The key word for the number 22 is that of master builder. This is a very hard number to fully live up to because it is capable of such great accomplishment. You no doubt will be extremely capable at whatever work you choose to do in life. You are especially equipped to handle large scale undertakings in the material world. Thus, the reference to master builder. The 22 possesses unique qualities and often very unorthodox approaches to problem solving. You are apt to be a very strong leader, and one who is not afraid to lead in new directions. Your perceptions are well beyond the norm.
When the 22 Expression operates within you in a positive vein, you are endowed with the most practical approach, but this practical or material sense is tempered with an awareness of non-material forces. You are very much the idealist, which the material skills to build and develop for the good of mankind. In a positive 22, the inner strength is clearly visible, and if developed, this strength will possess the charisma to attract a following.
If expressed in a negative manner, the 22 may accentuate unorthodox methods to the point of eccentricity. This negative expression can also be very dominating and overbearing.

Your Soul’s Purpose through Numerology

By  Margaret I. Jang

Uncover your soul’s purpose through numerology in order to answer the age old question of ……..

Why Are You Here?

Are you unsure why you are here or question what your true purpose in life is supposed to be? Conceivably, you have reached a period in your life in which you know, deep within, that you should be doing something other than what you are presently doing. Or perhaps you sense or feel that your life is just not what it should be – there seems to be a missing piece of life’s puzzle….but alas, you can’t quite put your finger on what it is.

Some people are very lucky, because uncannily, from a very early age, they know exactly what their contribution and purpose in life is intended to be. With great determination they unwaveringly remain focused and steadily strive toward their goal. They are unrelentingly driven by a greater purpose to implement and accomplish their soul’s essential plan. But to most, the “essential plan” remains a shrouded mystery, because unfortunately, this type of clarity is not what the majority of people perceive.

More often than not, you remain unfocused, uninspired and unaware of what your soul has come to learn and experience. Sadly, you become stuck in an unending cycle of uninspiring routine. Although you may have a sense of longing that keeps nudging and nagging or feel deep urges that stick like an unquenchable thirst, you still remain blocked, unable to fathom the meaning of received impressions, signs or signals indicating that you should be either living differently or doing something else, in other words, you are not following your soul’s initial plan.

Elevate and Transform

In order to elevate and transform to a more positive level, it is imperative that you intricately know who and what you are from the deepest regions of your core.
  • What are your likes, your dislikes, your innate talents, your natural interests, compatibility, positive and negative traits or hidden qualities?
  • Do you really know why you behave or react the way you do?
  • Why can you inter-relate companionably with some people, but yet not others?
  • Do you know why you seem to be driven in a certain direction?
  • Do you know why you may want to self-destruct?
  • Do you know why you may be aggressive, shy, lazy, outgoing, reclusive, lively, etc.?
  • Do you know why you are prone to experience set-backs, road-blocks or bad luck?
  • Do you know why you may experience discontent at certain periods in your life?
  • How, when and why can any of this affect your present life?

Initiating Awareness

Luckily, there are numerous ways in which to initiate your awareness in order to uncover the inner you and reconnect to your true spiritual essence.
  • You can visit a psychic or an intuitive for spiritual counselling.
  • You can join a religious organization.
  • You can join a cult and follow their directive.
  • You can learn to meditate.
  • You can pray.
  • You can self-channel to receive Universal guidance.
  • You can seek out various divination methods such as Tarot, Crystal Ball Gazing, Pendulum, I Ching, Runes, Astrology or Numerology to gain further in-depth insight.

Each method has value, as long as they are used only as “tools” in order to gain greater understanding, acquire a second opinion or to expand your perception. It is equally important to resist becoming totally dependent on any of these methods, because this will only lead to creating co-dependency and personal dis-empowerment. As with anything, use sound judgement and common sense.

You Made the Choices

It is believed that before incarnation, each spirit/soul chooses its own name, birth time, birth place, parents, siblings, friends and associates. Your soul’s purpose to incarnate from spirit into human existence is for the opportunity to learn and experience certain lessons, plus acquire valuable knowledge and wisdom in order to spiritually evolve. Numerology is based on the your given birth name (the name on your original birth certificate), plus your date of birth. Since in spirit form, you pre-choose your parents, your birth name is also pre-arranged to coincide with your present journey. No two people will have the exact same name and birth date.

Science of Numbers Ancient

This science of numbers can be traced back to 10,000 B.C. and was used by ancient Egyptian, Chinese, Greek, Indian, Hebrew and Roman civilizations. 2500 years ago, Pythagoras, a Greek philosopher and mathematician, believed that each letter and number has its own unique energy vibration and sound pattern, which creates energy or transmutes energy and its physical matter. Every number has positive and negative aspects and the energy vibration can either attract or repel other numbers indicating compatibility or conflict issues. Pythagoras combined the metaphysical science of numbers into a structured method used as a basis for modern numerology.

Uncovering Your Soul’s Purpose

This article only glosses the surface for how numerology can help you uncover your soul’s purpose. An mini or condensed numerology report is approximately ten pages of information covering “core” areas such as the Birth-Day, Life Path, Destiny/Expression, Soul/Heart’s Desire, Personality and Maturity numbers. A comprehensive  numerology report produces a minimum of thirty pages of information and covers all the areas of the mini report, as well as pinpoint significant timelines of opportunities, events or challenges. Either report helps you to understand the true you – to reveal your soul’s complex nature and give you direction or target areas that may need attention, as well as disclose your unique place in the structure of human existence.

Numerology Not for Forecasting

Please keep in mind that numerology is not meant to forecast future happenings so that you can deliberately alter, manipulate or eliminate them. Numerology is primarily used as a catalyst to uncover and explore larger realities concerning your life’s blueprint. The aim is to use this as a tool to indicate possible opportunities or events that may either increase your potential or present a challenge, which can then help you to understand or adapt to changes or transitions during certain life cycles. It gives you the opportunity to realize, accept and learn certain lessons through hands-on experience and acquired knowledge. Thus, you gain significant insight for how to expand your soul’s capabilities.

Interpretation
1
You have a determined inner drive which gives you plenty of courage and back-bone.  Your personality will never be mistaken as being meek or passive. Although you have the capability to be a born leader – to lead by example, you must learn to be independent, relying less on others; learn to go it alone and most importantly be your own person. To you, life is an exciting adventure in which you want to experience head-on action with lots of activity. You are a self-starter, strong-willed and very creative with original ideas, but you can be quite stubborn where you like things done exactly your way. You don’t like taking orders and you only accept advice if it coincides with your own opinion. With your strong, forceful, but warm personality you can learn to cooperate without losing your own individuality or identity. In order to excel and succeed with your ambitions, you willingly make personal sacrifices. Your mental capability is strong; you are a brilliant logical analyzer and a quick decision-maker in which you act with confidence, plus decisiveness. You love launching new projects, but once they are in motion, you fail to follow them through to fruition leaving that task to others. Avoid becoming too domineering, dictatorial, arrogant, selfish or inconsiderate; instead develop your mind, body and spirit into harmonious, efficient balance. Develop and strengthen your own gifts; utilize your own administrative and executive abilities. Suitable Occupation: leader, inventor, promoter, inspector, advertising director, manufacturer, explorer, creative artist, contractor, physician, director, business owner, controller, promoter, writer, illustrator, executive.
2
Although you possess leadership strength, your true strength lies in being supportive and helpful to others. You must learn to work in partnership, for you work at your best within groups or communities, rather than alone, but avoid limiting yourself to a small few; force yourself to work within larger groups. With your easy-going, courteous and agreeable disposition, you have a natural gift for diffusing difficult situations by using tact and diplomacy. Patience and persistence helps you to effectively create peace and harmony during disputes. By nature you are kind, patient, considerate, understanding and unselfish, but somewhat passive and generally you prefer to work behind the scenes instead of directly in the spotlight. Because of your over-sensitivity, you may suffer emotional upset when others don’t return the same sympathy or consideration that you give and then be tempted to hide in your shell to lick your wounds. Despite being proud of your accomplishments, you are unconcerned about receiving monetary praise or recognition for your deeds, although you do enjoy receiving compliments of praise. Avoid becoming over-emotional or moody and take care not to betray confidences. Watch that your sensitivity doesn’t make you too timid or shy when dealing with others; otherwise you may either over-react or withdraw unnecessarily. Suitable Occupationpeacemaker, advisor, psychologist, secretary, medium/channeller, artist, statistician, politician, teacher, diplomat, mediator, organizer, musician, composer, theatrical producer, poet, sculptor, landscaper, mining engineer, physicist, bacteriologist, merchant, statistician, manager, office worker.
3With your witty, adaptable and impulsive generous nature you have the ability to shed light and joy. Since you are a good talker, express your opinions freely and joyfully through creative or artistic endeavours. You love to surround yourself with beauty, whether through congenial friendships or objects of beauty. Ugly environments have no appeal to your finer senses and physical work doesn’t attract you either. By nature you are optimistic, humorous, charming and happy-go-lucky. You enjoy doing things on a large scale, being in the limelight, the centre of attention at social gatherings or anywhere you have an audience. You can be indecisive when making up your mind or you may prefer someone else to make your decisions to avoid being confronted with responsibility. If you fail to act upon your own capabilities, you may withdraw into yourself, instead of expressing your extensive feelings. Establishing business partnerships is not favourable, because you will find this too restrictive. Although you don’t mind giving orders to others, you dislike taking orders; just be careful that you don’t become dictatorial. Your shrewd observance combined with hard work can bring you much success. Take care to avoid spreading your talents too thinly or you may risk scattering your energies, becoming a master at none. Instead, draw upon a couple of your stronger interests and then become expert in these areas. Learn to distinguish your ego’s wants or needs from those of your soul so that you do not waste time chasing illusions. Avoid becoming too frivolous, superficial, gossipy, dictatorial, intolerant or impatient with others.  Suitable Occupation: dancer, actor, poet, writer, singer, salesperson, correspondent, lecturer, designer, cartoonist, artist, illustrator, cosmetician, dietician, photographer, social secretary, missionary, clergy, welfare worker, entertainer, electrician, dressmaker.

You are the foundation for any enterprise. As an employee, you are solid as a rock – dependable, organized, efficient, dutiful, faithful, hard-working and very conscientious. You have a keen, analytical mind coupled with logical, sound reasoning and approach life with serious, down-to-earth practicality; you can easily separate wrong from right. Part of your lesson in this life is to be of service – to build a lasting legacy for a greater good and to teach your accumulated knowledge and wisdom to less evolved souls. Greater wisdom and inner strength are developed when you lead by example, seeing things through to fruition. You dislike being hurried and are not readily acceptable to too many changes; much preferring a set routine or having a solid foundation, a good home life and proper training for whatever you are involved with. Although you may be faced with many responsibilities, you must exercise patience and cheerfulness. When faced with restrictions or frustration, resist allowing your will-power to interfere and refrain from complaining or gossiping; otherwise, this may lead to situations of arguments or hostility. Instead, develop tolerance toward others and avoid becoming narrow-minded, domineering, bossy, stubborn or restrictive just to have your own way. Allow patient perseverance to see you through all odds; just be sure that you don’t waste time or energy chasing illusions. Suitable Occupation: manager, buyer, musical director, architect, accountant, manufacturer, proof-reader, secretary, banker, coordinator, technician, physician, professor, analyst, scientist, writer, chemist, economist, musician, horticulturist, builder, contractor, mechanical engineer, surgeon, diagnostician, biologist, professor, skilled craftsman.
5
Freedom is important to you in which you are footloose and fancy free, desiring a life with no restrictions, but with plenty of change; you resist being pinned down to any one interest. You always want to see and do something different – this applies both to the material and spiritual levels. Take care not to lose yourself in the illusion of material pleasures by allowing your bad habits to become your master, because this will only stop your spiritual growth.  In this lifetime you must learn about constructive freedom. Freedom is not supposed to be used as an excuse to retreat from responsibility or undesirable situations and if you back into a safety zone, you will only experience frustration of losing valued freedom. Your life will be full of travel, frequent changes and variety, so you must remain versatile and adaptable to unusual circumstances or extraordinary conditions. Use this opportunity to learn new languages, other lifestyles or to expand your own development. Develop discipline and patience to see things through to the end, instead of running off leaving plans unfinished and in disarray. Because you love new adventures, your flexibility prevents you from incurring too much stress. However, refrain from over-indulging in the good life; otherwise you may be tempted to overuse alcohol, sex, drugs or food. Instead, first establish a solid foundation that gives you some stability, so that you have somewhere to return to. Suitable Occupation: speaker, writer, editor, promoter, theatrical manager or director, actor, scientific inventor, electrical inspector, entertainer, sales, lawyer, philosopher, counsellor, psychologist, character analyst, broadcaster, sports coach, explorer, realtor, broker, inspector, investigator, detective, plastic surgeon, masseur, athlete.
6
You are the expression for universal love – an unconditional love requiring nothing in return. But until you learn to love in a non-possessive way and become independent of requiring returned love, you will continue to encounter heartaches. Family and friendships are important to you, in which case, you love the responsibility and duty to keep the connection going and to keep everybody happy. But you must learn that the true meaning of responsibility doesn’t give you the right to dominate situations. Instead, learn to adjust harmoniously to touchy conditions or circumstances, whether it’s pertaining to your own life or to others. In all cases, it is necessary to create balance so that you can offer service with cheerful, quiet efficiency. Because you are sympathetic, loving and generous by nature, you are always ready and willing to help others, but be careful that you are not taken advantage of. Learn to recognize who actually needs assistance. Materiality is unimportant to you and you will sacrifice your own needs for someone else – to the extent that you will give them the shirt off your back. But resist becoming a doormat; learn to release feelings of guilt and establish boundaries.  Retain your own ideals, without forcing them on others and avoid becoming domineering, overly fussy or critical. Suitable Occupation: social worker, counsellor, social worker, physician, nurse, musician, restaurateur, human resource manager, hotel executive, artist, teacher, publisher, songwriter, chemist, poet, musician, singer, librarian, translator, actor, doctor, merchant, electrician, building contractor, nurse, bacteriologist, editor, homemaker, tutor.
7
You are the link between the spiritual and earthly realms, whereby you are naturally very sensitive, intuitive and perceptive to higher consciousness. But you need to listen to the quiet voice “within” in order to receive answers to your problems or inspirations of greater knowledge that can benefit others. You always seek wisdom or higher truths to increase your store of useful knowledge, but use this to benefit humanity. Alas, you are somewhat of an enigma in that you think and act differently from others, but you probably do not even understand yourself, regardless of your introspective thinking or powers of analysis and contemplation; be careful that you do not confuse introspection with illusion. Although you incarnated for a specific purpose and may have to make great personal sacrifices to bring this to fruition, you must also guard against getting lost in meditative grandeur in which you forget about your mission. You prefer quiet solitude, spending enormous amounts of time alone thinking, studying, analyzing and dreaming grandiose ideas, but you are not too adaptable to the modern world, so rarely do you act upon your ideas. If you fear loneliness or failure you will experience hardships and find life difficult. You enjoy recognition for your accomplishments, but learn to operate without it. Instead, search for the deeper truths about life and then with humbleness, teach and inspire others. Avoid becoming overly critical, perfectionist, sarcastic, distant, moody or despondent. Because you live in a world of your own making, you must avert your penchant to disassociate yourself from reality; beware not to lose touch with the reality of everyday living. Although you can survive on very little, resist accumulating material possessions; instead apply spiritual laws to material interactions. Suitable Occupation: financier, lawyer, judge, scientist, inventor, university administrator, investment counsellor, psycho-analyst, geologist, musician, clergy, naturalist, astronomer, artist, writer, actor, musical composer, meditation teacher, medium/channeller, appraiser, estimator, farmer, florist, business proprietor.
8
Once you develop efficient management skills, you have great potential for anything relating to business or commercial affairs. Use your leadership abilities to direct the world toward good causes that will benefit all.  If you use positive self-confidence with balanced ambition, while employing practical, down-to-earth hard work, you will in most cases, achieve success.  Keep in mind that it is the striving toward your ambition that should bring you satisfaction and not the actual goal that is achieved. Achieving material success is aimed to help you recognize the illusions of the outward material world and then to assist you with finding your inner spiritual self. Part of your lesson is to learn how to deal with the uninspiring, practical and material aspects of everyday life and to let go of the lower ego self. Learn to understand the laws that govern money – accumulation, use and power. Resist chasing or misusing power and money to the exclusion of all else. Avoid grandiose dreams, visions or impractical attitudes.  In relationships you may act with unemotional physical restraint foolishly thinking that material gifts make up for this deficiency, but this is just another illusion. Suitable Occupation: banker, lawyer, stockbroker, manufacturer, buyer, librarian, engineer, financial or political advisor, accountant, critic, teacher, cartoonist, editor, publisher, athlete, sales, consultant, business owner, charity organizer, transportation builder or politician.
9
You are the humanitarian of the world, placing others before you and giving selfless service to others – a culmination of your past life experiences. Although you may prefer to work for yourself rather than for others, you will be happier when working in global aid organizations that benefit humanity.  Inwardly you have a strong feeling about what you must specifically accomplish in this lifetime, but you must take care not to start anything that you cannot complete, because this is the end of a cycle.  Part of your lesson is to learn how to be more broad-minded and to abandon all prejudices by realizing the basic universality of humanity. In doing so you have greater potential to be far-sighted and helpful, in which you will be stimulated to give willingly to others, without expecting recompense – gratitude is the only reward necessary for your assistance. Somehow, you frequently start off in the opposite direction to the one you actually want in order to get to where you want to go. When you release “control” concerning ideas that you need friendship or satisfaction, you will find true love. With your aggressive, energetic nature you are capable of great achievement, although you have a tendency toward being a workaholic for worthy causes – just take care that you do not risk depleting your own health. Resist trying to attain material ambition or possessions, because in the end you will only feel disappointment and dissatisfaction. Although you will attract much, you must hold on to nothing – you belong to the world.  Avoid becoming intolerant, disrespectful, unfeeling or uncompassionate toward others. Suitable Occupation: teacher, artist, healer, humanitarian, philanthropist, surgeon, criminal lawyer, advisor, judge, composer, writer, minister, singer, banker, publisher, pharmacist, poet, actor.
Master 11
You are an “old” soul, identified as the “illuminator”, who is here to help humanity progress to attain a better world. Those who have this master number have important tasks to accomplish in service to humanity. You may appear somewhat dreamy, because you live both in the spiritual and earthly realms. This gives you the ability to act as a lightening rod or a clear channel for accessing higher information. This is not an easy path – you will encounter many hard and testing situations, but you have the resources to succeed, although many opt out, retreating to the lower energy vibration of single digit “2”. By developing your inner forces of perception and understanding, you will become aware of special knowledge, skills and talents gained from many past lives. You see things differently, knowing there is more to life than what you can see with your physical eyes. Your job is to inspire others by example, by living the “truths” that the universe continuously reveals to you. But you must be alert in order to learn what type of illumination and revelation to use in order to inspire others. Learn to trust your intuition and faithfully follow your inner guidance in order to elevate everything to the inspirational level. Most likely materiality will not interest you; instead you prefer to live humbly in the limelight. Resist striving for accumulation or hoarding or using your special powers for material gain for you will only feel dissatisfaction. Avoid getting caught daydreaming fantasies that separate you from reality – always remain practical and keep your motives pure. Inevitably, you may suffer from nervous tension created when you swing from the high energy vibration of “11” to the lower single digit energy vibration of “2” or vice versa. Suitable Occupation: minister, lecturer, musician, poet, dancer, entertainer, welfare or charity worker, psycho-analyst, teacher, inspirational writer, motivational leader, inventor, explorer, psychologist, philosopher, actor, artist, writer/author, manager, musical director, organizer, promoter, lawyer, numerologist, graphologist.
Master 22
You are an “old” soul; recognized as the “master builder”, where your thoughts are turned into practical use for a greater, higher purpose. Those who have this master number have a special mission to accomplish, which is to demonstrate the oneness of all. Be aware that if you ignore this call you will have to return again to complete it.  This is not an easy path – this is one of the most difficult vibrations to ensue and many opt out, retreating to the lower single digit energy vibration of “4”. You have the skill and potential to mastermind and then construct projects or movements on a global scale – in service to humanity – deep inside you know what you must do. If you use your potential to capacity, most likely you will leave a lasting mark, a significant legacy that will benefit the entire world – this is your reward. Your dream is for peace, happiness, prosperity and love for all.  You understand the greater forces of the universe and are able to channel and use these abilities advantageously. Resist being tempted to use your position or power to harvest material gain or to retreat from utilizing your great potential and powers, thus accomplishing very little. If you do, then you will feel frustrated or suffer the consequences of nervous tension.  Suitable Occupation: builder, buyer, director of healing/welfare/charity/international organizations, teacher, writer, global reformer, diplomat, international financier, law or trade expert, economist, politician or leader, physician, translator, athlete.

Just a Guideline

The “Life Path” interpretation reveals a small part of who you are and should be used only as a guideline.  Numerology simply identifies choices, but how you manoeuvre through these choices is entirely up to you – you can choose to ignore your options and remain unchanged or you can choose to embrace your options and reap greater reward.  Once you gain insightful knowledge about your true inner or spiritual self, you will be better prepared to shed doubtful fears, heal emotional wounds, alter out-dated thinking, plus balance and harmonize your lifestyle.  You will then consciously express the more positive aspects of your numbers.

Avoid Being Ignorant

If the “Life Path” interpretation opened your awareness just a fraction or alleviated niggling questions, then it is well worth to investigate other possibilities in which numerology may benefit.  In order for your soul to prosper spiritually, you must be open to accept your individuality; your own uniqueness.  Avoid remaining ignorant about you…. the true you, because without truthful awareness and acceptance you cannot initiate your soul’s transformation and progression.

Maturity number and Mental and Spiritual Health

By Rob Ragozzine

Many of us often experience stress because of outside events or when we believe that we have been unsuccessful, feel overworked, or do not get the things that we want in life. What is it that you want? Do you have people in your life to talk with about important issues? By talking with others, being adaptable, being open, and willing to work on your personal self image, you can better deal with the tension in your life. Although your ultimate goals or dreams may not be visible to you, you can help yourself alleviate anxiety by finding new ways to discover more about yourself and what it is that you do want out of life.

Within Numerology, your Maturity number is one area to explore in order to get a better understanding of your abilities. You may be aware that your Soul Number indicates your wants, needs, and abilities on an inner level. Your Life Path also gives you a general outline of your calling in life. This month, I would like to focus on the Maturity Number. It is calculated with your full name at birth, and your birth date. Your Maturity number shows how your Soul Number, Life Path number and other personal numbers work together. Your Maturity number indicates abilities, yearnings, dreams, or desires that gradually surface between 30 and 40, with its full force becoming stronger throughout your 40’s. Following your Maturity number information can allow you to experience your abilities in unique ways. Discounting it, or letting obstacles get in your way, can bring about personal distress.

Of course, many of us might consider their 40’s to be midlife. What kinds of images, thoughts, and considerations cross your mind when you think about midlife? To some it may bring up thoughts about a “midlife crisis," yet not everyone, including countless professionals, believes in such a thing. Yet author Jim Conway says, "Escaping the midlife development crisis is probably as likely as the child escaping adolescence." Whatever you believe, periodically reviewing your life, making changes, and finding ways to healthfully relieve stress will always benefit you.

Your Maturity number begins to have a more profound impact on your life after the age of 35. It encompasses those skills and qualities that relate to your true self. It brings experience to the table. These are the skills that you can and should try to develop within your lifetime. It also represents your ultimate dreams and goals. While the characteristics of this number are usually able to be seen during our youth and early adulthood, we tend to lose sight of these aspects until we are older. But our lives are always influenced by this number.

At midlife and all through our lives, we must decide what we have faith in and work toward achieving that. This becomes more important, as you realize that the power and influence of your Maturity number increases steadily as you grow older. Perhaps you regret making certain choices, or not choosing a particular career. If you do have regrets, or unfulfilled dreams, perhaps the Maturity number has some clues for you. When you ignore your Maturity number, you ignore a part of your true self. Accepting it can bring self satisfaction. When you are living up to the potential of your Maturity number then you are someone who has embraced and accepted life and willing to tackle its challenges. You are less rigid, more adaptable, and better prepared to accept your limitations. Also, you can more easily find ways to inspire yourself, and others. Of course, you may not be perfect, but you are willing to “get your hands dirty” and do the necessary work when the need arises.

You may want to look for people who have lives that seem to include the qualities of the Maturity number. One woman whose story embodies the essence of these qualities and characteristics is Yvonne Thomas of Berlin, NH. A story about her in a local paper intrigued me. She was the librarian for Berlin, and decided to retire and work on a volunteer basis, so that the town could afford to buy books. Often, the dreams represented by your Maturity number may inspire you to take similar steps.
Describing all of the symptoms of a midlife crisis are outside the scope of this document. However, psychological distress usually plays a role. Those of us with adequate support systems may be able to handle the stress associated with our problems. Those of us who are not may try to escape through any number of ways including alcohol, drugs, food, relationships, television, and so on. Finding ways to manage your distress, especially early in life, can help you to avoid more serious problems later in life. It doesn’t matter whether you are a teenager, in your twenties, or older. Finding ways to build a support system, connect with others, look for others like yourself, and find outlets for your talents, will all help in the long run. Your Maturity number can help to indicate your strengths and abilities. It will be up to you to find ways to connect with them.

You should always feel free to be able to make healthy changes, especially at midlife. Ultimately it is up to you to find ways to cope, handle stress, and take control of your life. At times we all seem to get stuck. Obstacles may appear in your life and delay you from achieving. However finding a healthy way to change your circumstances can be a way toward feeling better about yourself. Change can be good and is not an escape when done in a beneficial way.

Living up to your Maturity number is critical towards achieving optimal self-acceptance and living a balanced life. By believing in yourselfand recognizing who and where you are in your life, you can build hope and find courage to move forward. Hopefully, you will be able to allow yourself to manage your stress, and have what you want in life.

Good luck on your journey into Soulful living and Numerology!

In numerology, your Maturity number shows something that becomes important to you as you get older. It’s a goal that begins to manifest around age 30-35, and comes with the knowledge that you’ve been gaining about yourself, and what you truly want from life. As you get older, it becomes more and more important to you. To find your Maturity number, add together your Life Path number and your Expression number. Reduce this number to a single digit if it’s a double digit, unless it’s a Master number (11,22,33).

Maturity Number 1
With Maturity number 1, you learn how to become independent, a leader, and you want to start new things. You have great luck when you do start new things, and you can be ambitious and outspoken. As you get older, you can become completely independent and rely only on yourself for whatever you need.

Maturity Number 2

With Maturity number 2, you learn how to let other people help you at a young age, and the challenge is helping others as much as they help you. You want to keep the peace, are diplomatic and crave harmony, and are sensitive. As you get older, you find the partner that you yearn for, and the harmony you want.

Maturity Number 3

With Maturity number 3, you have a strong creative streak and active imagination, but it could be a source of problems when young, or you couldn’t let it out for some reason. You want to express yourself, and have fun with life. As you get older, you can be your true creative self, and enjoy life to the fullest.

Maturity Number 4

With Maturity number 4, you can be practical and hard-working. You crave structure and order, and you know how to build something strong from the ground up. You can have problems taking responsibility for your actions. As you get older, you can be humble, practical, and find pleasure in building something lasting.

Maturity Number 5

With Maturity number 5, you love change, freedom, and adventure. You’re not afraid to take chances and be bold and daring. You can lack direction when you’re young, and wander aimlessly for some time, struggling to put down roots. As you get older, you can be a world traveler and adventurer, and are always young at heart.

Maturity Number 6
With Maturity number 6, you care deeply about other people, and will give as much as you can. You live to serve, but you can go too far, especially when young, and can become lost in your beliefs. As you get older, you can create the family that you want, and find the happiness that you seek.

Maturity Number 7
With Maturity number 7, you live as you want to live, and it’s different from everyone else. You strive to learn as much as you can, and spend a lot of time by yourself seeking wisdom. As you get older, you can meditate and contemplate as much as you want, and share the wisdom that you’ve gained.

Maturity Number 8

With Maturity number 8, you can achieve a lot in your life, but you have to make sure you don’t give in to materialism, and embrace your spiritual self as well. You’re hard-working, determined, and organized. As you get older, you can become a master of whatever you do, and gain understanding.

Maturity Number 9

With Maturity number 9, you have to learn to love all of humankind, and serve others. You care deeply for others, are very responsible, and should focus more on your spiritual self. As you get older, you can work at helping other people in some way, especially through healing or philanthropy, and opening your heart

The Attitude Number is what you think you are getting. Your attitude is what impresses people. It you have an Attitude Number that's completely different from your Life Path Number, people don't know you, don't know what they're getting.

How to find your Attitude Number:

If you look at the Life Path Number of an individual that you want to understand better and it doesn't seem accurate, then study their Attitude Number by adding month and Birth-Day together, and breaking that number down to one digit.

For example, for someone born February 27th, you'd get 2+2+7 = 11, and then 1+1 = 2 ...

The 1 Attitude
This is someone who doesn't like to ask for help. They are completely self-motivated. They usually have issues with their self-esteem, as they just don't think they're good enough. That's why they need praise from others. If you believe in them, then there's nothing they can't achieve; if you don't, they rebel.

The 2 Attitude
is easy going. They are very good observers. They're also drawn to anything regarding psychic ability, and often may experience déjà vu. It is not uncommon for them to have a dream that comes true. They are in touch with their intuition and the metaphysical side of life. They do have compassion for people and are fascinated with people's stories. They are seldom bored.

The 3 Attitude
tends to be the joker. They have a sense of humor and are charismatic. The Peter Pan Syndrome, they don't necessarily grow up. But when they're in a good mood, it's a big smile, bright eyes, and a great conversation. If they're in a bad mood, you don't get to be happy around them. They have that effect on people.

The 4 Attitude
is a list keeper. They can be very quiet and you won't know what they're thinking. They're keeping track of all that's happening. You might find them surrounded by nature, or doing any form of repair, or construction. The 4 Attitude teaches all of us. They become an expert at their skill and teach us how to do it. They definitely will play devil's advocate: they make you see all sides. That's their Attitude Number.

The 5 Attitude
is playful and fun. You can picture then sitting on an elephant in Sri Lanka, or rafting down the Grand Canyon on their 40th birthday, while at the top of the Eiffel Tower on their 50th. See how they need to go and look at this world? They can't wait to go and experience other parts of the planet, and if they get stuck in a situation, it's too dramatic and they wind up playing the martyr. So better a 5 get out there. It's all about adventure and excitement. They love to flirt and they're usually the life of the party.

The 6 Attitude
is the nurturer. Male or female, they are taking care of everybody else. So if you have a child with a 6 attitude, they act as it they are your mother or father, they're the ones in charge. They don't want you telling them what to do or how to be. They feel useful only when things are out of control and they are fixing it. If it's peaceful, they don't know what to do with themselves. They definitely take care of other people and they're usually great with children or running a business. When a 6 walks in a room, we are drawn to them like a moth to the flame.

The 7 Attitude
You don't get to know what they're thinking or feeling. They keep to themselves and are introspective. They must continue studying the quest of why they are here: The 7 Attitude asks the big questions. They will reveal themselves slowly as they go. They can shut down and make you feel they are not remotely interested in what you are saying, but the joke is on you because they are the ultimate observers. They don't miss anything.

The 8 Attitude
More often than not, an 8 Attitude can be seen reading Investor's magazine or brainstorming on how to make some money, and establish financial security. If they have family, then they want to be a good provider. The flipside of the 8 Attitude is that money can seem completely unattainable. Money will slip right through their fingers. The 8 Attitude has no problem telling you what they really think. They can be a little too blunt, so it is best to keep their sense of humor and focus on the positive things in life!

The 9 Attitude
The 9 is the leader. At work they'll not just do their job but everyone else's. That's the Attitude Number 9, show me what to do, I'll do it. When it's over, they're exhausted and drained, but rarely allow themselves to tell the people responsible. They need to establish boundaries so that they will not feel depleted by the people in their life. The Attitude Number 9 may have old family pain that haunts them, and the 9 must work through these emotions in order to be happy today.
